all of these kids chose to ride with this drunk driver, risking each of their own lives.
hard to say but the driver took on the responsibility of the others lives
its just a bad situation, life will go on and it will happen again.
I only hope that a "heartless" office or BG would do the same thing if my son was involved. These kids bearly escaped death breaking so many laws, yet the officer is heartless. come on now.
yes, this is the party capital of the world and teens face these choices daily. i beleive they can still be taught how to handle situations. i hope that mine would call me if the situation is out of hand. he says he would, but what would he think when intoxicated???he might think he could handle it too??

How can the trooper are Bobby be blamed for this? These kids took it upon themselves to get on the road with a drunk driver. My heart goes out to this family for their loss. May God bless all families involved.

I, too attend the softball tournament every year. Yes, there may be a few people who get drunk and can't hold their alcohol, but for the most part it is a family event that it treated accordingly. You sound like sour grapes to me, and also someone who obviously didn't learn correct spelling or grammar in school. It would do you some good and maybe even gain you some credibility if you would not butcher the English Language when you write your ignorant tongue lashings. Don't take this personally, but you really sound like an illiterate, ignorant fool.

I am not the fool. You are to think what you say is the truth. I see kids dragging ice chests of beer at these so called family days. You must only look at the old people field and not where we play at the young people field.

By the way don't take this personally either but I think Scared Heart is full of themselves.

I think that is a very tragic time when a child this young loses his life to a drunk driving accident. But, like some people have said, he willingly chose to get in that vehicle. I do think that the guy driving should be charged. I also hope and pray to god that these kids start learning from experiences like this. I have Cade's family in my prayers. I also have the family of the little guy driving in my prayers because they are in for the long haul with this.

Anyone from around Ville Platte knows that you dont have to be 21 to get alcohol..and by get I do mean buying it(EVEN THOUGH IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE THE LAW) Lay off the kids.. they are having a hard enough time dealing with everything.

Lay off the kids? Who's fault do you think this is?????
The driver was either 17 or 18 years old - by far old enough to make his own decisions. Decisions that involved 15 year old CHILDREN.

Exactly. I'm not sure what people would be saying if this boy accidently wrecked and killed a driver in a DIFFERENT vehicle. Would they think he should be charged then? Most would say yes, hopefully.
Well I say THAT'S EXACTLY THE SAME THING. It doesn't matter if the guy killed was his friend or not or if the boy agreed. HE STILL KILLED SOMEONE! It shouldn't matter the details of the situation.

I know that you dont have to be 21 to buy alcohol in Ville Platte... I live in a small town not far from there and all you have to do is see over the bar to buy a drink... I did it. But I always had somebody with me that was sober. If these kids would just think a little bit instead of seeing how intoxicated all of them can get then we wouldnt be dealing with this. But, the people selling the alcohol to these kids should start thinking about the consequences of doing that. But the kids should starting thinking smarter also. They wouldnt be losing their friends if they would just think...

Why punish these kids! They will have to live with the mistake for the rest of the their lifes. Who supplied the alcohol? Someone 21 years or old
purchased it. Don't blame kids for an ADULTS decision.
Dont punish the kids? Punish the adults? How about punish both parties. Both parties broke the law.

All of you people are so selfish and talk a lot but you have no idea what went on. So y'all can all shut up. The parents did know where their kids were at. The kids just made a mistake and Cade knows it. I love him very much but he made the decision. So you can all back off and shut your mouths because not one of you know what happened. So for the sake of the family and friends do us all a favor and just be quiet! Cade knows everything that went on but he was ready to leave. He is with God now and he is loving it and has shared it with me muliple times. I miss him dearly but I know that is what God had planned so I will accept it but I still miss my friend wrh my heart. I love you Cade and I will be with you again buddy:)

Many of you people make me sick.
I've known all of these people in the
wreck for a couple of years and they
are no where near stupid. Sure, they
were drinking and driving and I AGREE it
was very wrong and very stupid but think
about your kids and how often they drink
and drive or ride with a drunken driver behind
your back, or even when you know. Now, Cade and
Ross were very close friends and he had no
intention of having his best friend killed. I
agree that precautions should have been taken
but he loved Cade and Im pretty sure always will.
He feels very guilty and has great remorse for his lost friend and his family. He grieves and grieves. I honestly wish drinking and driving will stop but it will not. People are too hard headed. I believe living with Cades death on his conscious will punish him for the rest of his life. Poor Ross does have a heart and I honestly wish this would have never happend. I did know him but was not really close with them but i was with many of his friends therefore we hung out often. Cade was honestly a good-hearted free spirited guy. His memorial was quite upsetting seeing many of my close friends remorsing over his death. Please have a heart and atleast think about this guy feels before you go on and on talking about how bad of a person he is. He really isnt. And about what comment #38, its what God had planned and there was no stopping it

HEY YOU OLD F***ERS LAY OFF!!! No lie I mean take a walk through memory lane I'm sure your not f***ing perfect! Sure they made a mistake and paid dearly for it. Cade died. The driver basically lost his mind and got himself expelled. These boys were in my class damnit and they were good guys. THEY MADE A MISTAKE! Get over it. I'm sure you made your own mistakes when you were young. Next week I walk with my class wearing cap and gown and I believe I speak for my whole class if not my whole school when I say no one holds this mistake against them and they will both be missed at the ceremony, especially Cade. Now please, lay off. No one is perfect...

Oh Okay, thank you for reporting what went wrong. I will get everyone to stop wearing their seatbelts. You are in a nice spot to be talking about a seatbelt law!
This comes from a drunk teenager that chose to get into a vehicle with another DRUNK ass teen at the wheel at 3m!!! What does your word or opinion mean here? yeah we pray too. i pray everynight that my son will not make any of these stupid choices or that friends would not let him!
HELLO???
to whoever is being the smart ass im cades brother and he didn't make it, and he wasn't drunk we don't know for what reason the truck veered off the road but it did, just ashamed it was him that had to die and couldn't have been a piece of shit smart ass like you
