I think the bill was originally intended to help small farmers in rough times; temp welfare.
But, as usual, corporations took it to a new "Greedy" level.
I guess to get back in line, we need to cut way back on subsidies; including the subsidies to Oil cos.
Congress needs to look at all "Gov't welfare" and where it is going. If it is going to Corporations, need to cut it out. Remember they don't pay their fair share of taxes and don't provide good paying (living wages) with benefits and retirement.

The problem with insurance is that everytime there is a major event the insurance cos. don't have the money to cover the claims. The taxpayers have to pick up the tab.
Insurance cos. should limit compensation and perks to keep the reserve well funded. This type of insurance, as others, should have ONLY admin costs, no huge salaries, expense accounts, bonuses and commissions. Farmers (and auto/health/homeowners) can just sign up and pay premiums and when needed, file a claim. There is no need to pay huge salaries to people to raise premiums and cut benefits.
Haven't we learned that yet? Huge salaries... should be for luxury items only. Let the 1% screw the 1% and leave the 99% alone for once!

What happened to the family farm? Use to be farms were handed down to new generations. The farmers did not get wealthy, but produced healthy crops that provided a comfortable lifestyle. People used to can farm fruits/vegs. for the winter.
It seems that a lot of the farm land around here is being developed into subdivisions.
Has Corporations run Family Farms out of business?
What came first GREED or CORPORATIONS?

One more thing: There was a time when you knew where your beef, chicken and pork came from and how it was processed. NO PINK SLIME.
The good ole days!!!
Did Corporations make things better?

A member of management for a chicken farm said once that they had to change the way chickens were raised (from free range w/no antibiotics) so they could feed the huge number of people. Shorter period from birth to frying pan.
Wait a minute: Aren't Americans (and a few other countries) considered OBESE?
Maybe we should go back to the good ole days when we ate more fruits, veggies, peanut putter sandwiches and oats during the week (lite) and had a huge family meal on Sundays! That behavior took care of two huge issues we face today; obesity/illness and family unity. The money we save would pay for health insurance (without all those chemicals would be healthier), home mortgage and retirement.
