there were 8 of them in a suv... Speeding... With a learners permit. I think the dumbass remark is fine to use at that point. The kids were dumb for doing so and the parents for not teaching them otherwise. dumb dumb dumb

I agree it was dumb. We do need to remember that we all have made some really DUMB mistakes. This is why it is so important to teach our children right from wrong, especially when it comes to driving. I know that the kids in this vehicle weren't from the smartest parents in the world so I am not surprised by this happening. I hope the driver is not able to get his license now for a very long time. The girl that was originally driving the SUV, I would love to know from her parents, if they knew how many kids were going to be in the SUV? As a parent of 4 children, 3 of which are young adults, I did my best to make sure they knew that driving was a privilege. Accidents can happen to anyone, but this was preventable. Being inexperienced, trying to pass two cars, seeing another car coming in your direction and pulling over back in to your lane fast, of course you are going to lose it. Then to have that many passengers in the vehicle, DAMN! I am glad to know that all survived. This is a tough way to learn a lesson in driving.

serious injuries

From what I heard, at least 2 of these teens may have there life affected for the rest of there lives. One girl has major head injuries and another may never walk again, and is in an induced coma because her lung collapsed. So, even if this Cody didn't mean it. He's got some serious consequences to follow.

Mind my own business? Luckily, this site is here for my opinion, so I will give it anytime I damn well please. YES, YOU ARE RIGHT, YOU ALL WERE WRONG! I hope you all learned a lesson from your stupidity. Thank God none of you died. YES, the parents, are also responsible. If they have a child that is driving or a passenger, it is their responsibility to know what is going on. Stay in school. You really need help with your spelling. F'n punk!

It's nice that you realize how horrible this could have been, however you seem to be using the fact that you're young and dumb purely as an excuse. I'm guessing you all are 17... I'm sorry but thats not young...especially to be making sad decisions like this. A little less then 2 years ago, when I was 17, I knew DAMN well enough to not get in a overpacked car much less with someone who only has their permit. Heck, I wasnt even allowed to ride with anyone who wasn't over the age of 25. It's in the past and over with, just don't hide behind the excuse of being young and dumb. You are all old enough and all should have known better. Don't give into peer pressure, you'll get more respect if you don't.
