Do not buy a car from Suzuki Autoplex of Lincoln. They dont care about there customers and will screw you over. Dont sign a thing unless you want to be taken advantage of. They have already gone to court for refusing to hand over titles or something to that matter. I found that out after i had purchased the car. They did not pay off my car loan so i had an overdraft fee on my loan. It's not right to wait 30 days to pay of a customers car after they have bought it, and not tell them that it will take 30 days. Even when we signed our loan and title to our old car over to them. Like I said do not buy from Suzuki Autoplex

I would agree with Dell. The exact same thing happened to me that happened to him. After trading my car in and getting another one from them, they did not pay off my car loan, so GMAC was sending me late notices and calling me asking when I was going to pay on this loan. I am forced to pay for two car loans even though I no longer had possession of the first car. It's been 41 days since our transaction. After I'm through with this post, I'll be writing to the Better Business Bureau. It's very interesting that you can't find out who their general manager is from their web site. I'll be writing to him too whenever I figure out who he is!

Actually...the updated BBB report now shows about 30 complaints, all with a "resolved" or "closed" status. I didn't trade in a car, but had nothing but trouble with them from day 1. I can give you a list of the problems that I had.
1. Priced me the wrong car model, and the first price they gave me was over $2,000 more than the value of the actual car.
2. Told me the car was a 6 cylinder when in fact it was a 4.
3. Told me the floor mats were in the back of the car, when in fact it was only the rear floor mats. It's been 2 1/2 months and I'm still waiting for them to get my front floor mats in. Every time I call they say they're taking care of it.
4. Did not give me the correct sales paperwork. I went to the DMV and found I didn't have all the paperwork I needed to get hte car licensed.
5. Furthermore I discovered that the DMV did not have the Title or Lien release yet so they couldn't do it anyway (this was day 29!).
6. The original person that was "taking care" of my floormats told me to call him the following monday. I called to find that he no longer worked there.
7. The only way they would come down in price was if they did not fix the scratches on the car. In fairness, with the scratches I only paid a little more than the car was worth, so I didn't get a bad deal, and I really like the car.
So then we get into the Title story. After visiting the DMV I discovered that the title wasn't there yet. They have 30 days to take care of that by law, and if it doesn't happen, complaints should be filed with the licensing board. So I called my bank (TierOne). The bank had not received the title from Suzuki.
So, I go back to Suzuki and talk to the woman at the desk, only to find out they hadn't filed the application for it yet (That i had paid for 29 days earlier by the way). She tried to tell me that they would have it in a "couple of days". She then told me they could meet me at the DMV with it.
So I call my loan officer...who informs me that won't work because TierOne has to file the Lien paperwork, and I had to have this registered by the following day!
So I go back to Suzuki...and I told the woman at the desk that I wasn't waiting 2 days. I told her they would get the title, and that they would hand deliver it to my bank the following day, which they should because TierOne even provided them with a SASE to mail it back in, and it didn't happen.
Of course, the woman at the desk decides to be smart with me and tell me, "Of course, that makes it easier for them because they don't have to do anything". I informed her that if they had done what they were supposed to to begin with, it would have been easier for everyone.
The following day, the title did get hand delivered to my bank. And, I'm going to shamelessly plug TierOne here because their service is amazing. They bent over backwards to help me out...called the DMV and got everything ready, and even let me take the title to the DMV myself in a sealed envelope.
Upon arriving at the DMV, I was asked by a Sherriff's office inspector who had to inspect the vehicle, if Suzuki AutoPlex had given me any indication as to why it took so long to get the title. I told him that if I hadn't gone in and lit a fire under then I wouldn't have had it yet because they hadn't done the title application.
I was also informed by both a Sherriff's office inspector...AND a DMV teller, that Suzuki AutoPlex has a bad reputation for getting people's titles in time and for even being able to get clean titles! In fact, it was a clerk at the DMV that told me to file a complaint with the licensing board if I didn't have my title in time.
Again in fairness...my salesman, Bryson, was very good and has treated me well. I hope he starts looking for employment elsewhere because he is committing career suicide by staying.
I have read other reviews since then and had I done my homework, would never have purchased a vehicle there.
My suggestion: Stay far away.

Dustin, thanks for your review on Suzuki Auto Plex. My salesman was good too. Maybe they just need new staff in their financial or title office. It sucks to be caught up in their troubles. I hope other people will learn from our experiences and as you said "stay far away" from Suzuki Auto Plex in Lincoln.

I definitely agree. I really think they mean well, they just need to get their stuff together.

And an update...2 weeks ago my floor mats came in...and they were the wrong color. Still waiting for another call for the right ones.

Dell -
The fraud division may help...but you really need to file a complain with the licensing board. Suzuki has 30 days by law to get you that title...since they haven't, you need to turn them in ASAP. If I were you I'd go to the licensing board office on Centennial Mall. Make sure you take your sales receipt in with you so you have proof of purchase date. Topix won't let me post the phone number, but you can get it from the website.

I agree with all of you on this one. I can not believe how bad of service I received at this place. My husband and I went to look at cars. They gave us the wrong price on the car we were test driving in the first place. Then they were constantly pressuring us to sign things that weren't a contract. Like, they just turned over this sheet of paper and wrote, "good car fax and warrenty" and drew a line and an X. He said that if we sign this and there's a good car fax and a good warrenty, it's a deal. And we were thinking, we're not signing this! They were just trying to catch us because what a good car fax and warrenty to us isn't the same for them. Then we constantly kept asking them what kind of warrenty and they kept putting it off like I was going to forget about it. I understand the job of a salesman but this went above and beyond to lies and extreme pressure. And I could tell he was soooo anxious to sell a car, he was getting mad. Because I said I wanted to payments to be in a vertain range and he quickly came back with, "I don't know what you want here." Unfortunately my husband is more patient than I am with rude service. And we went today to register the car, guess what, no title in the system. So we couldn't. Oh, and about the warrenty, we signed a zero deductible and at price warrenty. THey call my husband the next day and tell him that he can't have that warrenty and that we have to come in and sign a new one. My husband said we signed that warrenty and since you made the mistake, we should get what we signed. The guy said, "if you don't come down here and sign a new one, you won't have one at all." Yeah, not a good idea. We ended up signing one for a $100 disappearing ded. after two hours of arguing with some guy. It is stupid that they don't know what they're doing and we get punished for it. But they are slick because they sell their car and warrenty seperate so even if you decide the warrenty isn't good, it's a seperate transaction so you're stuck with the car. Just don't do it. It's not worth it.

Did you get a copy of the Warranty paperwork? If you signed it and they gave it to you, it's a binding contract.

By the way, I'm still waiting for floor mats. I'm going to call and bother them again today.

And the "Good Car Fax" and Line with an X --- Sign here crap...yeah they pulled that on me too. And when I got the report it wasn't even Car Fax, it was some other server they use that I've never heard of.

Here's an update: my trade-in vehicle was finally paid off - two months later. My latest letter to Suzuki AuotPlex was also copied to the Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board and the Better Business Bureau. The car dealership has promised to repay me for having to make a payment for the trade-in vehicle but I suspect it'll never happen. Whatever! Hopefully our comments can warn others from going to this company.

Okay, wow, where to start. This has been an ordeal from day one. We went there because they were advertising specials for college grads. The seemed to have beautiful foreign cars that were exotic to Lincoln, so I was immediately drawn to this black Audi A4.

The sales person, Joe, helped us and immediately proved himself to be incompetent. He knew nothing about the Suzuki's, their engine types, or even the most basic information, aside from the names of the cars.

We went in to negotiate a fair price and they told us that all of their vehicles are "thoroughly checked out" before purchase, that they run CarFax checks on anything they receive, and they take extra care to make sure everything is legit.

We had paperwork written up, signatures were signed, and the bank loan information was prepared.

A few days later, the finance manager (a chubby middle aged man with dark hair and a yellow polo shirt) called and said there had been problems and that we had to resign paperwork because a different bank had financed the loan. This seemed immediately suspuscious and we were concerned that they might be crooked. We drove in, told the sales person that we were thinking of going elsewhere and he went to get the "manager" (who really turned out to be just another sales person). He turned on the charm, asked what he could do for us, added a warranty (which was provided by Olympicare and has proven useless) at a cost of 1,800 for 12 months or 12,000 miles.

Their gimmicky "we'll pay your first 3-6 months of payments" ads really just adds to your loan and you get to pay finance charges on top of this. It took 2 months to get our loaned money, we called, went in, and were given the run around. One day, pressed for cash, my own MONEY, I went in determined to get my check. The fat finance manager was there and immediately started deflecting my concerns. I had had enough. I raised my voice and told him I wanted my check NOW. Origionally we had been told it would take a week to receive, this was nearly 2 months later. He started shaking, turned red, and said he didnt have to take this and that he would throw my ass right on the street. He said to calm down or get out. I had never been treated so horribly in my life. We had a loan for nearly 30k and this man was talking to me like I was an idiot.

I am mainly focusing on the major things but we were also told new floor mats were going to come, the previous owner was on vacation, and their service department was second to none.

The DMV did not receive the title within the 30 day time period.

Time passed, it's been 11 months and I have since decided to trade the car off for something less expensive and better on gas. I take the car to a dealer who does thorough check-ups of vehicles and it turns out the car had been in a serious accident. The most they could give was $4,500 for it (with a loan balance of 20k still). I was livid, they showed us the report history of the vehicle, Suzuki had bought it from an auction in Kansas City, sold it to someone who returned it 2 months later, and then they sold it again to us. They had said, "we just got this on our lot, and we know it's not going to stay here long." As it turns out, they knew exactly what they were doing the whole time.

We are seeking legal advice for what we've been through. A friend of mine works for a lawyer and they have had 3 cases against SAP.

Lessons learned: if the financing term changes at any point, go elsewhere. ALWAYS do a carfax report even if they say they do them, if the salesman seems slimy, they are probably hiding something, and NEVER BUY A CAR FROM Suzuki Auto Plex.

I forgot to add, they talked up their $100 referral bonus they were so proud of. A guy I knew bought a car from them and gave them my name (even though I had told him of the horrible everything i'd experienced there) and big surprise, no referral. I called twice and gave up. How can business get away with this kind of "service"??

It's criminal. Taking advantage of hard working people is just loathsome. I wonder how you people sleep at night. I really do.

Wow. I wish all this information was available when I bought my vehicle. Even though it FINALLY all turned out ok in the end (except that I still don't have my floor mats, which I was again promised would be in 2 weeks ago), I never would have purchased a vehcile there.

And Lynda, I'm glad to see people are reading this before they purchase! I'm hoping we can reach more people before they actually go in so they don't have to go through these same problems.
