Omaha police shocked a nursing home resident with a Taser last month after the 79-year-old man with dementia threatened officers with a fistful of safety pins.

Relatives of Rodell Cole don't understand why the incident happened. They plan to file a complaint with the Omaha Police Department.

The 106-pound Cole was left with a bruise on one knee, where he says he was kicked by an officer.

Yolanda Cole, Rodell's niece, said staff members and police should have left her uncle alone. He would have calmed down, she said.

What is wrong with cops today? The elderly man weighed 106 pounds. 3 cops, yes...3 cops and they have to use a taser. How sad! Then the brave cops handcuffed him and took him to protective custody at Immanuel Medical Center. I'm so freaking glad the 3 stooges got this man off the streets....

He had a fist full of safety pins. No word on if they were open though. Calling them the three stooges is being very kind, but I understand this is a family show.

Capricorn

If you need to get someone organized, this is the day to do it. You'll sort things out without sounding bossy or patronizing, and you'll also get co-operation instead of resistance. It's a good day for having a serious chat with a child, perhaps because you need to explain something and want to make sure you do it properly, in a way that doesn't create confusion or fear.
