My friend's grandmother felt the earthquake, but thought it was the cat jumping onto the end of her bed. She reached her leg out to kick the cat off of the bed, but there was no cat to be kicked.
Meanwhile, the same friend's mother had been awoken by the earthquake and saw the closet rattling. She thought it was the cat scratching at the closet and tried to go back to sleep.... Then she noticed the cat on the floor next to her bed.

Oh good grief! You guys are making way too much of this! Aren't there more important things going on in Michigan? Three robberies and a clerk that was shot deserve the amount of time you dedicated to this. I'm waiting for the headline, "Earthquake 2008".
Earthquakes in Michigan are rare, thus they do make for "breaking news" when this happens. Just better hope you never get one where you live. You'll be freaking and crying and screaming for help.

Why should you care anyway what's happening in Michigan?? By the way, the headlines did read "Earthquake 2008". Almost every day in Michigan we are overwhelmed with our own crime and misery stoies that fill our airways and headlines. When I used to live in the southwest an eathquake of this maginitude might not receive much attention, but here it IS big news and something that most people have not experienced. It has also been a learning experience for a lot of our students to see a seizemograph (sp) first hand and for scientists to better understand this fault(sp) and help other areas of the country better understand plate-tectonics. Give us a break!

I'm thinking that it must be important enough for you to be in this forum to comment on it.

Wait until you are in an earthquake and your house is destroyed along with some of your family members. Those that call others idiots in such a casual way need help and reflect that they may have a rage problem.
