and i hope he gets every dollar of it !!

those idiots who run all that mess up there are about as slip-shod as it gets.
it darn sure wasn't the victims fault he was scorched.
he was just driving by on an open public roadway.

and farther up the way, you should see all the open and unprotected gas wellheads just sitting there on the edge of the road or trail, waiting for some off road vehicle to come along and clip.

The idiot should have stayed out of the area like he was told, he won't get a dime because of that. He ignored sign, officers everybody telling him not to drive up there, got what he deserved, dumb a$$. Bad enough we will have yet another self inflicted disabled idiot we will have to support!

it was early in the morning, and there wasn't a thing preventing him from traveling that section of road.

bottom line is, these idiots screwed up.
they were totally inept at controling the scene until eveything was back to normal.(not their version of it.)
and that whole area is ripe for that same type of disaster or worse.
and not one red cent of the settlement will be extracted from your wallet.

No you are wrong, they told him not to go up there, there were barricades up, he went anyway. They may have screwed up BUT in his case he asked for what he got. I'm not concerned about it being extracted from my wallet, what I am concerned about is lazy idiots collecting on crap that that was their fault to begin with. And it will in the end be from my wallet when he tries to collect disability, food stamps, medical, HUD etc. from the government because he can't work because of his injuries. I am sick to death of these people blaming everyone else for their laziness, just looking for a way to stay at home and live off the government, its coming out of your pocket too buddy, oh you are probably collecting off the government too. Well not me I work 2 jobs to support my family, I don't want to work either, but we like to eat.

Sounds like he is just jealous because somebody else has money and he wants it. The frivilous lawsuits are getting out of hand in this country.
Oh wait - they're not getting they already are out of hand.

and don't assume about anyone.

i've never taken a dollar from our government,
and i'm skilled enough to raise a family with just one job.
all bills paid on time.
very little debt other than my business accounts.
two kids through college.
and a two car garage full of toys.

and i know more about that area than you probably know.
i know and have dealt with the coal co.and others in that area.
the term i used earlier (slip-shod) was a kind term, considering the way things are done by them.

all i can say is, keep your ear to the ground, you'll be hearing of a judgement or a settlement in this case.

and as far as the people in that region whining ??
you need to catch up on your reading of the long history of that region.

if you're going to get angry about something over there, i think you'd be outraged at something much more significant that this case.
go up there during a couple of days during the week and take a real good look around.
for instance, the water and the silt in the waterways coming off those mt's.
the aforementioned unprotected wellheads that abound.
the poorly reclaimed land that's left behind after each new gas well has been drilled.
the eroded tracks of off road vehicles and the mud holes and pass arounds that ravage that area.

the list goes on and on.

hey lol get your facts right. no one tried to stop traffic that morning and had it not been spring break, a shool bus loaded with children would have been passing at the time it exploded. how dare you call that young man an idiot, I think you are the idiot.
I was there, I live less than 1500 feet away.I was cutting fire breaks with my tractor(along with others using thier own equipment) before firefighters arrived. The oil drillers had abondoned the site and let it to spew for aleast an hour before it exploded.
If the the school bus had been involed, would you "lol" be calling the parents "idiots" for sending the kids to school or maybe us residents that live near it are "idiots" because we belived our county emergency officials when thay left at 6:00 pm the night before and said "everything is ok" while it was still spewing.you tell me "lol".

Some people let their minds run on autopilot. Given news of a lawsuit, we see the same writers voicing opposition without bothering to learn the facts of the case--they're against all lawsuits regardless of their legitimacy or basis in the law.

I have no way of knowing whether this suit is justified or not--Ed and Bubba might, but the rest of us have to guess based on accounts that we read. Let's not be so sure of those guesses There is wisdom in an awareness of what we do not know. Otherwise we join the masses who get most of their exercise by rushing to judgment and jumping to conclusions.

you're right.

not to mention that the drilling was being done deeper than permitted.
(i've seen them return back to previously drilled and capped sites up there, and being operations all over again drilling deeper yet.)
and far too close to the homes in question.

I was on that call, I am an emergency responder, yes it was blocked and people were advised not to go by there and this man went around the barricade and went anyway, he done this to himself and I doubt he will get anything..it was his own fault
