In other words, male humans have an uncontrolable desire to mate. Besides, these 17 year old girls don't look like 17 and sure as hell don't act like the 17 years olds i went to school with. He should not have done it, but i can't say he is a child molester, just weak.
Uncontrollable?? If he was that 'uncontollable' maybe he should have went down to "The Pony" and got a little adult putang and stayed away from the students.

Do you honestly believe this doesn't (or couldn't) have happened anywhere? These teachers are supposed to be setting examples. Not trying to ruin a young girls life by trying to get her pregnant. Are these the same teachers that should be teaching abstinence? Even if it has happened in the past it doesn't make it ok to do something like this. boo-hoo the families might get embarrassed. They are lucky if that is the worst that happens to them.
Teachers aren't allowed to teach abstinence or any other type of sex education! FYI!

Really? wonder how my son managed to learn all about it in is health class? Many students also look to teachers for guidance. Teachers also teach by setting an example.

I'm very disappointed in all the people who are saying things about this young man that make him out to be a bad person. Not that he didn't make a bad choice, but one choice shouldn't be the defining moment in a person's life...if it is, then we are probably all bad people.
Furthermore, I also feel it's important that people judging this situation try to understand that this young man is at a transitional period in his life, as the young lady is as well. The young lady obviously believes herself to be an adult, and she is acting as such. As far as the young man, I don't condone his choice, but as a 22 year old myself, I understand how it feels to be in the awkward phase that rests between adulthood and adolescence. Age is but a number...when you turn 18, 21, or any other age, nothing magically clicks in your brain to turn you into an "adult". Leaving behind the things you enjoyed as a teenager is a process...while maturity does come, it does take time. Likewise, holding a paycheck from a educational institution doesn't automatically make you feel like a "teacher"...especial ly if you were a still a student yourself only a few months ago.
haha this is just ridiculous.. This girl is not 'acting as an adult' just because she decided she would have sex w/ a teacher.. Sure she might THINK she is one, but hopefully this situation will help her realize she needs to put a little more thought into her actions.
And yes of course, the guy is only 22 and probably still a little immature in the head but like we've said before, he is the one who spent his time and money to be a teacher and made this idiotic decision to risk throwing it all away, and now he has thrown it all away.
And sure, he's probably not a 'bad person', i wouldnt even call him a child molester because that is definately not what happened here. It was however a very unprofessional and poorly thought out move and since you are 22 years old as well, you should think a little more about this. You said one choice shouldnt be the defining moment in a person's life. Well sometimes, if you make a choice this stupid, it WILL become a defining moment in life because now he's brought the law into it and he has no choice now. I hope you realize that one choice CAN be a defining moment in a person's life. Situations like this are why you should put serious thought into some of your actions, especially trivial temptations like this that can change your life and cost you everything. Thinking about what you should do before you do it and realizing that some actions have horrible consequences that are not worth it is part of growing up and BEING an adult.. Don't brush it off as 'oh he made a mistake'.... Learn from him and don't let yourself make one small decision like this that CAN and WILL change your whole life.

Wow this is pretty stupid.. First of all, you spelled testicles wrong. If you are such a man, then learn to spell all the pieces of your anatomy correctly why don't you? And if you're really that stupid of a human being to think that you are no different than an animal, then I guess we can just thank God or HOPE that you aren't around young girls at your work. It's pretty sad that you think so lowly of yourself that you put yourself on the same level as an animal with nothing but instincts to drive their actions.
"Oh it's hard being a male in these situations!!!" Do you just want yourself to look like you aren't capable of thought?? Well there are all sorts of men who work around young girls and don't have sex with them!!! It's called SELF CONTROL and it's something HUMAN MALES that have developed adequately possess!! I guess you weren't one of the lucky ones, sorry man. Maybe you are actually a gorilla and just don't know it. Might wanna get yourself checked.

It is absurd that any of you could justify what this teacher did, regardless of the child's age he is an AUTHORITY figure, so because she is 17 we allow him to remain in the school system, who is to say when he is 25 he won't manipulate a 15 year old into the same situataion. Is it still ok then? SHE is a child in high school regardless of age without proper life experience and for anyone to justity what this 22 year old college graduate did is embarrassing. He took the obligation on to be a teacher and never should have used his status to pressure a young girl into an uncomfortable situation. She made a MISTAKE that will impact her emotionally and physically for the rest of her life. During a time when she is just now beginning to mold herself into an adult, during a time where she defines herself. This event could break her. Could completely change her as a person. To come on here and actally see such comments in his defense is beyond embarrasing, it's a disgrace. So to clarify she made a MISTAKE, he COMMITTED A CRIME.
Last time I checked, it takes TWO to tango! There were two cars...she knew what she was doing the whole time. Yes, what he did was wrong and unlawful, but it is now like she was raped! She is at fault just as much as he is. He should have just waited until she graduated in 6 months.

your crazy if you think they were equally at fault and have you ever heard of being emotionally raped, read a book please. If I'm not mistaken the comment insanely left doesn't say she was raped. Can you tell me why you are trying to justify breaking the law? And for an anonymous post your sure do have a lot of insight to what she knew and didn't know

saved you time pulled the excerpt for you:

emotional rape is similar in many ways to physical rape, particularly date rape. Date rape involves the sexual use of someone's body without consent which amounts to theft of the person's physical sensorium. In a like manner, emotional rape is the theft of someone's higher emotions, such as love, without consent. However, in the case of emotional rape the lack of consent is contained in the fact that the individual is being lied to by the perpetrator.Emotional rape can happen to both men and women. Both forms of rape can be very devastating and require specialized programs for recovery.

Regardless - he should have been the adult. What he did was selfish - no 17 year old girl knows what she really wants. Even if she thinks it's what she wanted at the time -she was too young to really make that decision. He should have had enough respect for the girl, and himself, to not take their "attraction" or whatever it was to that extent. I don't care if she threw himself at him, he should have said no. He's the adult and should have been five years wiser.

No idea of who started what, but nothing should've happened between the two of them. He should know because he is suppose to be setting an example since he is an "authority figure". But they are not the only one's to suffer. DCHS & DCHM Band is also. In the afternoon's I drive by to pick up my kids from the elementary school & the band is practicing EVERY afternoon. But not on Wednesday; the media would not leave them alone & practice had to be canceled. DCHS has competition this wkend. Tyler Bigham has let down alot of people. Yes he is only 22, but everyone knows, do not have sex with a student. I know others are "dogging" Desoto Central for drugs, but you know; drugs, happen at every school; even private school. This year at the High School, drugs have not been an issue. I'm sure they are still there somewhere, but not like they were. Anyway that is not the issue here; the issue is the teacher & sex with a trusting student. I will pray for the Middle & High School band program during this time. It must be hard on them.

This whole story has been blown way out of what really happened. You got an over sexed young woman playing her hole card to get what ever it is she wants for that day, a weak mined young man that fell into her trap. Now you want to ruin his life for doing what we humans have been doing since time begain. Get real people, you will never stop folks from having sex, if you do then we stop being humans!!!!

if you trust your son then you wouldn't have to worry about her being around him, he can just say "NO", right? she is not the only 17 year old at that school having sex, she's just the one that got caught. does this make her a bad person? NO it does not!!!! most of you on here posting comments were doing the same thing when you were teenagers, does that make you bad people??? i'm assuming that it doesn't.........but this girl is just supposed to stop her everyday life because of this, right? i'm not defending her by any means, because at the same time this guy shouldn't have his face all over the tv, being made out to be some kind of monster because of this.

Well he should have thought ab what he was doing before he decided to go parking w a 17yo girl if he didn't wanna make the news!! Actions have consequences and he has found out the hard way unfortunately. People should stop acting like he's such a victim, he is 22 yrs old and while obviously not the best decision maker at times, he is still an adult and we live here so it IS our business actually. People deserve to know and discuss what type of people are in their SCHOOLS and community!! This is America and right now we still have freedom of speech so Lets stop acting like the poor boy (and Girl) didn't bring all of this on themselves.

And I am wondering WHY she was allowed to go on the band trip??? Really folks?? This was poor judgement in the schools case to allow her to go. My son and his friends have been hearing lots of stuff about her at school and frankly are surprised that she is even showing her face at the school. They all thought she would go homebound!!! Now, I must ask, did Tyler get to go???

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Capricorn

You're in an industrious mood but you'll be happiest if you can be left to your own devices as much as possible. It's not that you're feeling unfriendly, simply that you won't be able to concentrate very well if you're surrounded by lots of people. If you haven't even started writing your Christmas cards yet, try to remedy that at some point today.
