What do you recommend when you are hunting Trolls? I imagine that we would be talking fairly long range, they are sneaky little critters. Any thoughts?

I'd recommend a pesticide, something strong. A long spray in the face will do them in.(mumbles-now where did I put that DDT....)

I don't know about YOU,but when I crap in the woods my pistol is laying on the ground in front of me or my rifle is leaning against a tree next to me. Within easy reach.
As we speak,I have with me-A .32 derringer in my pocket. A .22 pistol in my lunch bag. A .32 automatic in the glove box of my car. I am never at a disadvantage. LOL Now did you need a box of shells for that Casull? For practice I'd recommend you use .45 Colt. Cheaper and easier on the hands and ears. LOL

Wow, nice place you have here. Who would have thought of building a 3-million square foot sporting goods superstore in Old Harbor, Alaska, pop. 298.

All right... What would you recommend for a decent home protection firearm for just your average Joe, who doesn't need a 'howitzer' and has practically zero experience with firearms? Not exactly a sporting goods question, but I DID notice the large display of rifles and shotguns here.

Ok, Mr. Sporting Goods Store Owner. I want a fur coat. Yeah, I know, not politically correct, but I want a fur coat--What do you recommend that makes a nice coat, and I suppose I'll need to buy him a new weapon to shoot said furry creatures with. What do you recommend on that front also?

In a hand gun,a .38 special. Probably a Charter arms "Undercover" model with a 3-4" barrel. A basic double action 5-shot. An ideal across the room gun for the tyro.

In a shotgun I'd suggest a Mossberg 20 guage with a 20" slug barrel(unrifled). Loaded with either double ought buckshot or 3" magnums in #2 shot. The magazine will hold 4 shells,5 if you keep one in the camber and a full magazine of 4.

For you I'd recommend weasel. Thats the poor man's mink. LOL And you don't shoot them, you trap them. And DO NOT buy him a new gun. Thats like a man buying flowers for no reason. It just raises suspicions.

Info on a "ladies pistol" for protection. She has a small hand and needs a smaller trigger pull.

Yes,I've heard of them They are I think also in the mink/weasel family. Fur runs from very dark brown to black. They are found up north. On into Canada. I don't have any clue how protected they are.

I bought for HRP several years ago the very pistol I recommended to Matt. If however she feels that to still be rather cumbersome,I'd look for a .32 revolver. But many .32s are about the same frame size as .38s. Grips can be changed to fit smaller hands if need be. If she is comfortable and familiar with handguns you may want to consider a number of small automatics. They are mechanically a little more complex than revolvers but are a more compact package. Practice and becoming familiar with your choice of firearm will create confidence and ease of use. I guess a good rule of thumb is don't buy more gun than you can handle. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, ask away.

I was wondering why you were recommending my pistol to Matt. Now I know--it's the perfect ladies pistol....LOL!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Aries

Financial muddles are more than likely today so be careful if you're going shopping. You might be accidentally short-changed or there could be a misunderstanding about how much something costs. This isn't a good day to lend friends anything valuable in case they don't return it or they damage it in some way. Better safe than sorry.
