Congratulations Ms. Hudson!!!

This says it all....
"The female officer once testified that she told Kim Hudson not to take another step toward her or she would shoot. But in court, her own microphone belt proved she never said that."

What's the matter with you?? Anyone who attempts suicide then refuses to drop a knife with 2 police officers ordering them to do so DESERVES to be shot! I know, I know, all you bleeding heart liberals will say she wasn't in her right mind and all that psycho-babble trash, but who's FAULT is that...the 2 officers we all depend on to help and save us every time we screw our own lives up? Do you think THEY should have been knifed by some psychotic suicide case instead? Sheesh, hope YOU never need their assistance some day...

Only the police officers and Kim know what really happened, who did what. It is sad that Kim was shot in her state of mind but the police did not know what she was capable of. My nephew was shot in the head point blank by a police officer which was unnecessary. He wasn't doing the right thing but did not deserve to be killed. Kim is lucky that she is not dead from the shot and no one would want that including the police officers involved. I cannot make judgment on who was right and wrong here because I wasn't there, just that it is a bad situation for all involved. They all have to be able to get up every morning and live with what they have done and possibly lied about so I hope they can look at themselves in the mirror.

This should have never gotten to this point. After 2 hung juries, it should have been evident that the "state's" (city of Olathe) case was insufficient. Someone made an error in judgement that night and Kim Hudson should be compensated for that error. There needs to be a complete and thorough review of Olathe PD procedures, including training on nonlethal devices.

Apparently, you missed the part where the female officer testified to one thing, but her microphone belt could not back up that statement. Will that officer be prosecuted for perjury? Doubtful. In any case, the use of deadly force was not called for, because by expert testimony, the victim never moved from the bed. Therefore, how could she have attacked the officers? Nonlethal devices (Taser or beanbag) were not available but should have been. I believe Olathe PD is equipped with those items, if not, they should be. A thorough review of the proper application of deadly force, supplemented by further training in the use of nonlethal methods, needs to be done.

common sense dictates after five trials or granted motions something is not kosher here, what it is is hard to tell, I usually side with the person against the cops just for S&G's but in this case I think the woman is right. Get a judge who knows his job clear this up and go on, punish whoever deserves it and go on.

If this is an example of the assistance the Olathe PD gives people.. I don't want them near me... I suspect this woman was never a valid threat. Who said she was Psychotic? Manic? Why protect the Police...? Just because they are the Police? Give me a break... BTW- Your post makes you sound like one of those "bleeding heart liberals"

We lived in Olathe for 19 years, and every city cop I had dealings with, was the least helpful they could be, without exception. The county sheriffs department, may on the other hand may be one of the best police departments in the state of kansas.

She's a mental and needs to be looked up in a mental hospital. Those officers never asked to be there with her when this occured, they were called. She never should have had the knife. When she was told to drop it she should have. I feel sorry for the cops involved. God Bless them!

If she is truely suicidal and never gets the help she needs she will one day be successful. All this has done is prolong the inevitable.

Its not like these officers did not know who they were dealing with before they got there! She had an extensive violent history with them before. Check out jococourts.org and look up her name. Quite the history of poor common sense. Granted, no one should be shot for no reason, but I think her record definately says something to her credibility!

I say good for Hudson. Yes she was suicidal and drunk but the officers got completely carried away. I know FOR A FACT, the female officer that shot hudson was a ROOKIE at the time! Hows that Mr. "boo for kim"! She had no clue how to handle a situiation like that and ultimately someone got Shot. Hudson was drunk and suicidal but not homicidal. The fact that the female officer stated, in court, she told hudson not to take another step but the recorder PROVES otherwise does not surprise me. The fact that the defense evidence shows she was shot in bed, not where the female officer stated does not surprise me either. This was a ROOKIE cop. She had not even been out of the academy for a year. Knowing how this Officer operated outside the job puts me in favor of Hudson. I feel sorry for Hudson only because she was wrongfully shot by a rookie cop that didnt know how to handle a situation, who Screwed up and then "supposedly" modified her story. But, I also agree with an above comment. Only the officers and Hudson know the true story. But its not about what you know, its about what you can prove, and the evidence is not in favor of the officer. Obviously, or the out come of the trials would have been different.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Capricorn

Someone is in a finger-wagging mood and unfortunately they seem to be concentrating on you! Maybe they think you've fallen from grace for some reason, or perhaps you're simply the only person who happens to be around when they feel like letting off steam. Do your best not to fall into an equally critical and disgruntled mood, because it will soon make you feel wretched.
