Medical Examiner's Office Fails Accreditation

Because of one of my part-timed jobs, I've had to, on numerous occasions, go to the M.E.'s building (delivery AND pick-up) and I agree with everything said.
It's just one of those "things" we all need and expect...but really don't want to think about.

Your Mayor wanted a skating rink in the middle of downtown... sorry.

New ballpark, ice rink, bok center. I'd rather have decent health care and drivable roads myself.

there is a private autopsy service in OKC and you could pay $x amount for a partial autopsy or $x amount for a complete autopsy. Just in case the family feels the attending physician/s made any mistakes or the cause of death was in question. With OU Medical School etc...you would think that we would have top notch pathologists in this state that could run the ME's office better than this...i have a feeling though that it is just like everything else-you get what you pay for.

the only way to fix this type of problem is to STOP re-electing senators & congressmen that AREN'T changing the way they choose to spend our tax dollars !!!

our schools are not getting the funds necessary to educate our young people.

the ME office is in the same under-funded position

the longer these legislators stay in office , the more focused they become on their own agenda and the longer the list becomes of their " special friends "

then they try to blackmail us into ANOTHER tax increase to pay for this type of necessary services
and threaten to cut those budgets

when the tax revenue comes in , it is spent somewhere else

just vote NO and get rid of these political leeches

I agree funding should be better... is this something that should be considered in with annual budgeted things or is it a tax based vote to help get that funding up?

should be considered in the budget dollars. Without the correct equipment the M.E.s office does an incomplete and corect job. Sometimes it may just end up as a guessing game without the correct equipment. So another criminal gets turned loose.

I would hope the DA's in Tulsa and OKC would have some opinion on this issue.

Obviously you are unaware of what is going on in the OU med school.....It is a mess.

How about writing your reps and asking them why funding has not been provided for such important services? Further more where is our rainy day fund that could help these offices out right now with some funds to get them going again. Without this accreditation the DA's may get pissy.. it could very well make them lose a high profile case .... WRITE YOUR REPS !!!

The Medical Examiners office is state and federal funded. There are probably some cases they did very well and then some that were not so well. 40 violations or discrepancies would probably mean the loss of federal funding. The dead do speak during the investigation however we need the resources in the field and the lab to conduct the investigation adequately. If you going to write the representative you need to write the federal representative. It will take two legislative sessions before you might see something change at the State Capitol.

I already called my representative to complain about this. Maybe all of us should do it, the elections are coming soon!!!
