By the way, you are entirely wrong. I care greatly for little Kelsey, who's life was a blessing to her mother and family.
I just do not obsess in bashing MP, who IMO, is the one who ended her life. I have stated on here many times that I believe that everyone is to blame in Kelsey's death, because everyone "should of known" that they needed to work together for Kelsey's best interest. Some people were just too preoccupied with building a custody case... IMO !!

Kelsey's life was and STILL is a BLESSING to Many!

Kelsey was a Blessing to her Daddy and his Family too!!!

Well IMO your OPINION is wrong!

Why wasn't full custody ever filed?

The Briggs' obtained Temporary custody in January 2005 when abused was first confirmed, so they could keep Kelsey safe while the LE, DHS, and the court could investigate.

This was NOT a custody "BATTLE"! It was a "BATTLE" to keep a child safe from abuse!

Upon further reflection, I see where it says "buried in his plea" and I've put my Jethro Bodine education to work for me and realize that "buried in his plea" means that he was given a plea deal and so it wasn't brought out in court - not that it would be listed in his plea. Sometimes others take over my keyboard and I will knock down anyone and lie to prove my point. Who do I think I am? It's not like I'm Dick Tracey. Duh!

It is not logical to think that only men can sexually abuse children.

I am not sure, but I don't think sexual abuse was proven in this case--It is a possiblity, I believe, and since both RD and MP were with Kelsey alone on the day she died, there is no way to say who did what, when and how. Logic is a wonderful thing.

The one true victim here is Kelsey. Her mother is not a victim. She is still alive and breathing and has the rest of her life ahead of her.

If Raye or Mike would take a polygraph test, maybe we could settle some of our differences, but that seems unlikely.

I have tried to muster up some sympathy for RD, because I am a mother and I have made some big mistakes because I am a human, too. Sometimes I think it really is hard to see the forest for the trees when you are right in the middle of the forest.

But I always come back to--Kelsey was a baby--She depended on others for her shelter, food, clothing, and care. Cave women protected their babies from wild animals and the weather, I suppose.

Modern times are different, but mothers still must protect their young. Kelsey did not get the protection she needed, or she would still be here.

Her mother was with her "all the time" she herself said, so it was up to her to protect her baby.

She didn't do it. We all need to learn from this, not beat one another up and make excuses for a mother who did not perform the basic duties of her job.

My doctor recently said to me that being a mother is the hardest job she has ever had.

No one is saying that it would have been easy to wake up Kelsey from a nap and take her along if Raye was leaving the house, or to never leave Kelsey alone with Mike. But sometimes we have to do what the times require.

Raye would not have been in a homeless shelter if she had left Mike. I think Gayla would have taken her in--I personally think Kathie Briggs would have taken her in.

She was not blind, deaf, and dumb. She saw her baby quit thriving right before her eyes--She should have and could have done something--That is the point.

For you all who are mean to AFK, you should be glad there is a young person with this kind of heart standing up for Kelsey.

But it is not unusual to suffer for standing up for the right side--Because that is what RAye's choices boiled down to--rights and wrongs.

For me the right path now is to stand up for the child who could not stand up for herself, and the other babies and kids who need our support because the wrong choices are being made.
