I have friends that send my mom "Mother's Day" cards every year. Isn't it great to know that we have good parents? We are lucky!!!
I bet your mom loves getting those cards. My youngest is 18 and a few of his friends call me mom. They each call themselves my "other son". I love it.

Do you have a church you are planted in? If you did you would always have family around! find the right one for you, and plant your seed there, watch it grow! We have single mothers at our church, and I see them lonley on the Holidays too, but then we all get together with them, and make them part of our family, I try to make sure no one goes lonley on Christmas or Easter! God would want us to bless them, all year, but the holidays are special times. I hope you are full of joy this up coming hoilday season!
I have a Parish I belong to and go on occassion and holiday's. Midnight Mass is a very special time for me and my children and it's something we never miss. However I don't go every Sunday... it's a much longer story and has nothing to do at all about church's or different denominations..more about organized religion as a whole and the hypocrisy of those attending. I prefer to read my bible, teach and or pray at home.

I have two girls (25 yrs old) at work that call me mom.(I'm 40ish..lol) It's a nice feeling that you mean that much to someone that is still "influenced" hopefully by the good you do and show (teach) others.

I do have the best associates.

I have a couple of my kid's friends that call me their "other mother". Those are the kids that come and go in my house like they live there. Kids that have been coming around for 10 plus years. I always tell them all that I hate kids and they need to go home. But they laugh at me. I always have had the driveway full of kids playing ball, riding bikes etc. and that was fine. At least I knew where they were all at. Put a jug of tea or kool-aide and they were all happy. I just see so many mother's now days that are just waiting for their kids to move out. That was a sad day for me, when my son moved. Still have my 19 year old. When she moves it will really be sad, and that is coming real soon. I am glad they spread their wings and grow, but it is sad. AND I still have kids at home. When I am 90, I will have them all gone!!!!!

I usually talk to my mom everyday if I go a couple of days without calling her she calls me to see what is wrong why i haven't called. I call her several times a day even at midnight. Most of the time she asks why im calling so late and its because I know she is up.

My son just turned 30 and we still talk a lot. He may not call me everyday, but there are days that we talk 5 or 6 times. He knows that I'm always there for him and the reverse is true. Some of his closest friends, the ones that have been around since their early teens still call me mom. I have always referred to them as my neighborhood strays. My youngest two are 15 and 19 and I have developed a whole new group of "strays" that call me mom. I love everyone of them like they were my own and always will. My deepest sympathies to this poor girl's mother for her loss. If something like this happened to one of my children I would lose my mind.

I agree, I too would lose it. I have watched several of our "town" kids pass in the last couple of years, it is hard on a small town. Through all the deaths in the past couple of years, I was truley sad and grieved, but blessed and thanked God that it was not my son/daughter. Just lost another one of my daughter's good friends a couple of weeks ago. It is so sad to see a young life cut short. I feel for the families and friends of this precious young life.

Nothing wrong with teaching at home, but I encourage you to find a church that makes you feel full of joy, get away from religon! Get away from the hypocrisy of the church. find a Word church one that loves you for you, not judges you. They are out there, God will lead you to one if you just ask him too. I understand about all the politics, but it can be overcome! Have you tried Victory? My pastors came from there, they started the bible school there, and I love to vist when I am in Tulsa. They have good people, friendly and loving. No judging just love of God and all who want to worship him. No matter your story...Blessings!

You are reading it right, but you forgot July. It was June 21 or 26 to Aug. 3, that's 6 weeks. Unbelievable!
Sometimes I talk to my mom everyday, sometimes it might be 2 or 3 days. I don't talk to dad as often because he isn't one for chatting on the phone. I am lucky because they live next to me so it is easy to go see each other, and for us to keep an eye out for each other. My youngest son is still living at home because he just graduated and is in automechanics school. The oldest I don't talk to everyday, but try to at least once a week. He lives in Tulsa now and is busy with his job and friends.
You are right, I forgot about July as well! My goodness that is a long time to go with out seeing your 17 yr old. But the story read she talked to her, and the last time she did she refused to tell her where she was. So many be she was staying the summer with friends, and ran away? Maybe that is why the mom did not report it sooner. Sounds like she may have reported it as soon as the daughter would not tell her where she was, I feel awful it was to late for this mom and the child.

Please don't think I'm negative, however the Word churchs are the ones I have a major problem with. My ex husband was a member of one and "made" me go with him.. I'm Catholic and love my religion. Then he went to smaller and smaller pentecostal churchs...they all wanted to "beat the devil out of me"... touch me, heal me...etc... I'm so sorry..but it is not who I am or what I believe. Then the ex has done so many other things over the past 8 years and I get it thrown in my face that they go to church every Sunday and Wed..yet I know the things he does..it's so hypocritcal...plus he tells our son that mom isn't going to heaven because I'm Catholic...sorry, I don't really want to step into a "church"... but I love you!!! Truly!!!

I do not think you are negitive, or wrong in what you believe at all. nothing wrong with being cathloic either in my book. I just like to pray and heal and if others do not, I am ok with that. We all worship the same God, we all walk the path God gave us, and you are going to heaven, it does not matter if you never step into a church again, as long as you have declared Jesus your Lord and Savior, you will rejoice with all of us in heaven! Sounds to me like your x needs to find another church, because if he is being taught to judge and condem others, he is living in fear of somthing himself! PS we do not ever want to "beat the devil out of you" LOL but I do see your point there! And the laying of hands on the sick, is in the bible to do so. I have seen a miricle before, and I believe in the power of prayer and hands on the sick! Tell your husband you are glad he goes so much, it is always good to have someone praying for you. it will shock him! LOL Luv you dear!

you probably should speak to "rose the real rose" on the forum for the missing woman. She is catholic (so is my family) and very rude. obviously she does not know compassion. perhaps you could line her out.

Even I know it's not my place to judge. Although I do know we are all human and do it even though we say we don't..it's just "our opinion"..lol. I can only hope it's her sincere belief that her opinions need to be viewed in that regard to those who read them. Within that hope, respect is given to all. Without a face, without body language and eye contact it is difficult at times to "read" the true nature of one's posts.

Peace be with you and your family and also with Rose.

if the report says she didnt want her mother knowing where she was then most likely she was daling with some people she should not have been around, so mow it up to the police to find who she was dealing with.
