June 26th was when the girl actually died and her mother reported her missing a week later? Am I reading this right?

Yes you are reading it right. However the story reads she was visting friends, so maybe the mom did not really know she was missing until Aug. I do not know. My prayers are with the family now.

How sad for this young girl to die alone, with out any of her family by her side. That to me, would be the worst way to die, alone. I also can not fathom the idea of talking to your kids every day. Mine are 19 and 21 and although they are " grown-ups", I still at least talk to them briefly every day, even if it is just a text or something. How sad, hope this family finds some answers and mostly some peace. God bless them.

I agree with you. I am 34 and I speak to my mother everyday, sometimes 4-5 times a day. I have to talk to her. And her with me, if I do not call her she is calling me to see if everything is ok, or just to say hi. I do the same to my kids, I will send them a text to say hi during the day, and I hug them at night. I feel so bad for the mom of this girl. My prayers are with them.

Man sad. I to talk to my mom every day sometimes once sometimes 50. My brother as well, if he hasn't heard from me in two days he will call and be like sis you ok, everything all right I just haven't heard from you. I wouldnt know what to do without either one of them. I text my daughter more than we talk in person, lol.

I'm the odd ball. I'm on the phone or in conference all day..( multi tasking on here )!! lol... the last thing I want to do is "talk or text " on any phone... I don't talk to my kids everyday (the adult ones). I receive an email from my son who lives in Denver every morning and we correspond that way. But my daughters life is just as busy as mine and we actually "talk"..once a week probably on Saturday mornings and catch up. Or the grandbabies will call me..of course I always talk to them!!

I guess I can't see talking every day..what do you talk about? Hows the weather? I can't see something happening within 24 hours every day to discuss.... and don't get me wrong.. I ADORE my family...but I HATE talking on the phone and they know it! lol. They've even told me that I will rot before anyone would know I was dead because of how I am...

LOL nothing wrong with that either. You do not have to tal everyday. I just choose to. I am very close with my mom. We got even closer 2 yrs ago when my older sister died. Sometimes we do not have anything really to talk about, but it sure in nice to hear her voice....

My mother as well as my brother are very involved in each others day to day lives. I call my mother to vent, to see how she is, or is a song comes on that makes me think of her. My brother and I talk about anything from what we had for lunch to what I may be looking at at a store when he calls. I have realized as I mature that my mother was truly my first original best friend and my brother was more than likely the second. I have a very busy life between 2 jobs, hobbies and my daughters social calander as well as her sport calendar, if you love someone to me a 2 minute text is better than nothing. My cousin and I converse bout every week via text, typical how are ya, and love ya. Family is very very imprortant to me being adopted, without them the Lord only know the struggles I could of had.

I also choose to talk to my family every day. I hate talking on the phone too, and usually could care less if anyone else calls me at all. But if it is my family, I want to hear their voices even if it is just a quick " hello", most times I don't have long discussions with my kids on the phone. Just if I don't see them, I will call, or they will call me. Usually they call to see what's for dinner!!! I am very close to them all. My mother IS my best friend. I talk to her about EVERYTHING. And I even "run away" and go to my mom's often. She lost my step-dad about a month ago and needs me, so I just take off and go hang out with her ALOT. My daughter does the same thing. I seem to worry about my kids, guess that never goes away huh? Even though they are "grown" kids, they still are so stupid sometimes. I have to let them fall on their face, and give them a hand up and dust them off. And just think, I have 2 more little ones to raise. Oh, will I make it?

I will share mine! Growing up my friends always fell in love with my Mom and Dad. I was truly truly lucky when God choose my path, he knew I needed them and they needed me.

I have a half sister (younger) and she just lost her mother, a week ago today. And she lost her dad 3 weeks ago as well. So she now feels like she has no parents. But even if we do not have parents, you have your children, and you can have that bond with them! And they will pass that on to their kids, and then the kids after that. Love goes a long way in any family! Blessings.

I feel blessed too. My grandparents raised me from an infant. I had worthless parents..maybe that is why I'm so heck bent on being the best mom I know how to be. Of course G-ma and G-pa are gone now, but I have an aunt still left.

Sharing parents.. lol.. my best friend constantly (loves, loves, loves) but complains about her mother all the time... sometimes I'm very thankful I don't have to deal with that.. but holidays it becomes lonely sometimes.. especially if the kids are at other places..you know how it is with divorce, you have to share. It's the holidays more than anything when I wish there was more family.

I know, you could come to my house for Holiday's!!! We have a huge hodge-podge aray of people. And we are all "family".

To Bones:
I have to disagree with you. I have the best parents in the whole world!!!!! I will share too, I always have. I have friends that send my mom "Mother's Day" cards every year. Isn't it great to know that we have good parents? We are lucky!!!

Do you have a church you are planted in? If you did you would always have family around! find the right one for you, and plant your seed there, watch it grow! We have single mothers at our church, and I see them lonley on the Holidays too, but then we all get together with them, and make them part of our family, I try to make sure no one goes lonley on Christmas or Easter! God would want us to bless them, all year, but the holidays are special times. I hope you are full of joy this up coming hoilday season!

You are reading it right, but you forgot July. It was June 21 or 26 to Aug. 3, that's 6 weeks. Unbelievable!

Sometimes I talk to my mom everyday, sometimes it might be 2 or 3 days. I don't talk to dad as often because he isn't one for chatting on the phone. I am lucky because they live next to me so it is easy to go see each other, and for us to keep an eye out for each other. My youngest son is still living at home because he just graduated and is in automechanics school. The oldest I don't talk to everyday, but try to at least once a week. He lives in Tulsa now and is busy with his job and friends.
