Wal-Mart site plan gets green light

Just what Ogden needs, another Wally World. Just think, starting at Harrisville, you can go 5 miles south to Ogden, then 5 miles to Riverdale, swing west 5 miles to West Haven, 5 miles south to Clinton, then 5 miles to Syracuse.....all hitting Super Walley Worlds along the way!
Ogden City is just seeing the stars from the taxes in their eyes.....Walmart is NOT good for the local economy, environment, or good business in general!

I agree with CC. The increased traffic from the new Wal-Mart will only entice new businesses to Wall Ave. Visually, the new Wal-Mart will be a big improvement to what is there now. Hopefully, this investment will spur new development between Wall and Washington. 20th street is pretty desolate around there. Due to lack of retail in Ogden many residents including myself must travel to Riverdale to do most of our shopping. The new Wal-Mart will help keep tax revenue in Ogden.

Why do you have to go to Riverdale? There are grocery stores in town, and if you stop going to Wal-Mart, you don't have to leave town.
When I moved to Ogden one of the selling points was that it was a Walmart Free zone.

Think of all the little "men" whose lives have been ruined as a result of Wal-Mart. Whole towns have been lost.

Is there an organized group trying to stop Walmart? I have read about a lot of communities that have stopped Walmart. I would like to join forces and see what can be done about them coming.

No, not only do I agree that Bernie Allen is a jackass, but I am a citizen of Ogden who thinks another Walmart is not needed.

I have a problem with Bernie Allen. And did you hear Roy Cole forgot to show up for his MURDER motions? Unbelievable. Silly boy, I can't walk. Im paraplegic.

I have first hand knowledge that Stacy Nielsen is innocent and Bernie Allen called the Standard Examiner and had the newspaper articles written about her to ensure she lost the trial. What a stand up guy he is.
