Tears of loss

My heart goes to the family of these girls, it saddens me that this happened. It is the duty of a police officer to protect us not kill our family memebers and rule it out as no fault. If any other person did this we would be up for manslaughter.

Do you even know whose fault this accident was? The officers? The person who cut him off?? Some other circumstances??? You are straight up ignorant to accuse someone of something you have no knowledge of!! Politely pull your head out!!

Having driven by the scene shortly after the accident, I must say that I was shocked at the level of damage and destruction. I am very anxious to hear exactly how fast this officer was driving to respond to another accident scene. I suspect that we will all be shocked. If he was travelling at an excessive speed (even with lights and siren), the police need to seriously consider whether the officer was in fact at fault.

I just hope that the investigation will become public when the time is right. There are so many rumors out there no one really knows what happened. I hope that no matter who, if anyone, was at fault, a proper investigation will be done. Sometimes the unknown is the worst part of dealing with the grief.

Agreed, the Illinois State police should thoroughly investigate and release the findings once the investigation is finished. And then, if any laws were broken, the guilty party should be subject to any prosecution under the law. Until then, it's meaningless to hypothesize or jump to conclusions in regards to culpability.

Have you heard that the tape for the patrol car was not on? Also that he was in a minor accident before that the state had to pay for The news said this is his 3rd accident? MAYBE they should take him off the streets and behind a desk!God bless the girls family and I hope he does well with recovery.

There was no reason for that officer to be driving at a high speed. There were others at the scene and he knew that, he could hear over the radio. He should be put in jail and have to live with that for the rest of his life. He is a murderer and deserves no special treatment just for being a officer. If it was just a everyday person that was speeding everyone would want that person to pay. So should a officer, he is to fault for the lose to two young girls lives and their families major heart break
