See? Not only is the Illinois anti-smoking law helping to save people's lives by minimizing second-hand smoke, it may have saved lives by having this guy arrested outside the bar. Who knows what might have happened had the police had to go into the bar to apprehend him?

Hopefully they will send him to Missouri to stand trial since they still have the ball$ to execute dirtbags like this. If he were to be tried and convicted in Illinois and sent to "death row" (ha!)then some liberal dirtbag lawyer from northwestern law school would probably try to free him.

Not to be rude, but I'm looking at the picture of those two cops leading this...thing...into the courthouse and all I can think is "Geez, I hope he desn't try to run, because those two wouldn't have a prayer in h*** of catching him."

You know this is a high profile situation that is under a national media spotlight. You'd think they would assign officers to this detail who at least look like they are capable of something other than a trip to Krispy Kreme.

Yes, I know I'm being mean, but take a look at that picture. Ridiculous that law enforcement has such low physical fitness standards.

I hate to be paranoid. But this story shows that nobody can too careful at any time. You have to have eyes in the back of your head as you go about your everyday business. Some of these folks were just everyday people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and died at the hands of this predator. Too bad we are too civilized as a nation to give this guy the death penalty...and do away with him the same way he killed his victims.

My need for vengeance is strong. I say kill the bastard for what he has done. He is an animal.
But my need for a just government is stronger. Premeditated murder is wrong and governments shouldn't be in the business of it.
It is much, much cheaper to let him rot in jail for the rest of his life. It is probably much crueler as well.
He'll never get out, boys. And eventually... his mind will torture him until he's unrecognizable.

Cops and standards? HAHAHAHAHA they can barely spell their names, let alone touch their toes...what everyone needs to realize is that cops are simply employees just like you and I...however, they have a sweet perk...they have power thats given to them with their position...the sad part is they do nothing to deserve this power...they did not gain it by leadership, nor by intelect...they filled out a form, took a course, and were handed a gun...now they are on top of the world...but at the end of the day...they are still employees...not heros...they look out for their own behinds, and their paycheck...I want a volunteer police squad...that would be impressive...whats even worse is that I bet there are a lot of pigs on the job that are worse than this dude killing 8 people...but they cant be held accountable...statistically cops have the worst record for domestic abuse....whats the wife going to do? Call the cops? He's already there!!! Cops are a joke...with no punchline...

Seven pervious felonies. Why was this piece of dirt still on the streets? This is why I hate lawyers and judges. In florida they just executed a slimball who raped and murdered an 11 year boy. This slimball was released from prison 11 months before he killed this kid. Our laws are a joke in this country.

Most likely he was produced by police officers. Those that prefer to pursue village sticker violations by going into someones driveway, or police that randomly run peoples tags, or pull people over for having a graduation tassel hanging on their rearview mirror. There are many police that have a chance to view the situation rationally and only choose to see it one way, their way. I understand there is a need for police officers to keep the peace and enforce laws and sometimes they are stuck in certain situations, however, to pull people over for no seatbelt, a tassel on their rearview, etc. Thats simply stopping people for no real reason other than boredom and the desire to harass a civilian that is probably doing nothing wrong. Yet this guy manages to run circles around cops for days if not weeks. I suppose the officers were too busy doling out seatbelt tickets. So THAT is where the resentment comes from.

Probably because he looked more like some judges grandson, than a person from the South Side.

I live in the Sterling/Rockfalls area and I'm glad its all over. People have been scared to death to go outside. People don't understand how bad it scares you until it happens in your community. Just think is you had a serial killer living next store to you, and like myself, have 3 small children. I'm glad he was caught!

What a piece of sh*t.
My condolences to the families of all the victims, but I'll admit, I'm most saddened by the murder of the 93 year old man. He had lived such a long life; getting stuffed into the trunk of a car is no way to wrap it up.
