alright all you environmentalists, why don't you foot the bill for alternative energy? You go ahead and empty your pocketbooks and figure out a better way. Put the grid up to disburse it to the rest of us, while being competitively priced. Don't use any oil based energy or coal based electricity while you do it. Come on you know it alls, hasn't George Soros planned your life all out yet?

Yes it's about money and jobs you moron! I am sure thats nothing you know anything about.
The last time I checked we don't have migrating hers of Caribou or Polar bears. Pipeline safety in in the forefront of all operators. If it leaks they are out the MONEY from lost revenue and cleanup, as well as fines. It is in the best interest of the operators to have a safe operation.
P.S. The Black Sands are part of the "alternative energy plan". People have been working on extracting oil from these sands for years and now that they have the technology to do it you people want to stop it.
What a bunch of hippocrites!

The people who "work" at "nonprofits" like "Fresh Energy" and "Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy", or any number of other acronyms - can you answer a few questions?

Who funds your nonprofit?
Do they fund you because they would profit by alternatives?
Shouldn't this be disclosed?
Is a viable economy in Minnesota important to you?
Do you have empathy for a family on a tight budget attempting to hold down auto fuel costs?
Do you believe MN refineries should be here with their good jobs or should we refine everything in TX?
Would you be willing to declare your support for that premium?
Do you prefer supporting Chaves, Citgo, and his dirty oil?
Did you enjoy Desert Storm?
Would you advocate supporting OPEC over Canada?
I've got a few more but start with these.

Have you ever been to China? An environmental disater. We are exporting all our manufacturing to China because the low cost of manufacturing due to zero environmental regulations. Now we are going to allow the Chinese and others to drill oil off our coast and we have to import it back. This is stupidity. Drill here. Drill now.

Are you kidding? They lit evil fires with Mother's trees. Carbon emissions. Deforestation.

Then they killed and ate creatures from the forest floor. Now you get PETA upset.

I am sure there would be a group out there upset if they picked berries and nuts from trees to survive on. Just can't win.

I like how they want renewable energy. But if you put up a windmill, that is bad.

Kills birds.
Looks ugly.
Makes noise.
Don't you dare string power lines to them or upgrade the grid work to use the power from the windmills.
Plus it is multiple times more expensive then the fuels power plants currently use.

There is a very simple solution to this problem. Renewable energy. No more disagreements about pipelines crossing anywhere.

Wind and solar are FREE. What is wrong with free? Why pay for fossil fuels when you can use wind or solar? It just does not make any sense - other than to line the pockets of Bushco and his friends.

Plus, renewable energy will bring in jobs by the thousands. This is the message our President is sharing with the population. Listen to him people.

Free?

How many acres of land are tied up with windmills? Windmills cost close to 2 million a tower. How many millions of dollars in infrastructure does it take to get the power from the windmills to the power grid? Then you have the environmentalists that are upset at the noise, or if they are killing birds, or they are put up where the wind is the best and that is also the migratory path of birds.

Solar free? How many millions do panels cost? What is the environmental impact to build them? How long will they last? Again, getting the power grid hooked up to them. Keeping them clean so they work efficiently. Also miles and miles of land tied up and useless with the panels set on them.

Plus with Cap and Trade, these machines and panels will be made overseas in China to get by all the regulations and taxes.

IrishMN, Loveland, CO,
Maybe you should change the name of your ISP from Loveland to Lalaland, because thats apparently where your head is.

Wind and solar work, but only up to a point, while you need electricity, there's still a need for fossil fuel to create it when wind and solar can't provide.
The, "magic bullet" of power has yet to be discovered.

Nuclear is great, but all the Ts haven't been crossed or the Is dotted.
The last thing we want to do, is create a bigger problem for future generations than we already are.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Virgo

If something is weighing on your mind it will start to affect your health, Virgo. It might make you feel tired or depressed, or it could dominate your thoughts. You know what you should do about it, of course, but it seems like too much effort or you want to pretend that it doesn't exist. Unfortunately, this escapist attitude won't make the problem go away and might even make it more tricky by the time you finally decide to tackle it.
