Hey, we could have a pizza contest. There aren't any that I really don't like, but if I had to choose, it would be Pizza Factory in Princeton.

I've heard that The Pizza Factory in Princeton has pretty good pizza! Haven't tried one yet.
RiponGirl, I may not have agreed with some of your posts, but you were a nice balance. Your participation is/was appreciated. I will try harder to behave myself! LOLOLOLOL

Even though this is going against my "swan song" so to speak (lol)...
I appreciate your words of encouragement, and I guess I will make a compromise. I will stick around; my posts will probably be fewer though. I still believe that sometimes, as much as finding out information is a great thing (since ignorance isn't always bliss), I'm still finding that a lot of opinions (and some facts) are still be disregarded and insulted because they are "wrong".
Sometimes things really are just as they seem, sometimes they aren't - If people are on here to find the truth, one cannot ignore and push off half of the stuff here - regardless of how convinced one is of their "correct" opinion.
As for pizza - I'm not much of a veggie person, the only kinds I can handle are green onions or mushrooms. Give me good old pepperoni or Canadian Bacon anyday :)

I love white pizza. It's made with white cheese sauce instead of tomato sauce, no meat, just mushrooms and artichokes and sometimes asparagus. Anybody know where I can get one?

I've actually begun making my spaghetti sauce without the meat! It's so much tastier!
I'd like to try a veggie pizza! Would The Pizza Factory have one on their menu?

That white pizza is definitely good. I'm trying to think if I've seen it. Pizza Factory has a big menu and I'm sure would accommodate just veggies. Fratello's in Oshkosh has some good pizza too, and I'm fond of the Big Stella's with their special sauce.
That gives me another idea. Green Lake has the Chili Cook-off. Maybe Ripon could start its own promotion and contest: could be pizza, could be chocolate chip cookies (maybe Hillary would come and share her recipe..laughing again). This is, after all, the place where Republicans swim upstream to spawn. Maybe it could be a place where people can have a sense of humor...

Did you say you did not like the pizza from Pizza Factory? I was told it was good pizza. I assumed nothing like a Chicago pizza, but I don't live around Chicago anymore and only expected that Pizza Factory would be pretty decent.

I wonder if italian chefs use different ingredients in their gravy, depending on if the sauce will be used on pizza, in a lasagna, or over pasta.
Cuz, I don't make a bad sauce over pasta at all. But, I tried to put this same sauce in a lasagna and....DOUBLE YUCK! My sauce is too much "something" to be in a lasagna. I'd imagine it is not good on a pizza either.

As for pizza within a restaurant that is not known for pizza, I'm a HUGE fan of The Gooseblind in Green Lake. They have a pizza there (which actually has a white sauce, but I always get it with a red sauce) that has mushrooms, spinach, chicken and garlic. yummy!

I have never eaten at the Gooseblind (don't get out to eat much). I'd like to try their pizza. I don't think I've heard residents mention that they had pizza. My list of pizza places in this area is growing. Lotsa food to try some day! I love pizza!:)

Maybe someone should start a recipe exchange site. Get enough recipes together, make a book, sell it, and donate the proceeds to some worthy cause. Not me - I'm an eater, not a cooker!

I think the Chamber of Commerce puts a book of cookie/baking recipes out there for sale. I think they tout the sale of the book around Cookie Daze, but the book remains available at the Chamber of Commerce, until they run out. I guess. I am also an eater...not a cooker!:)

No, you just quoted me as saying I WAS voting for Pizza Factory. You must not be getting enough sleep!! And, if you miss the Chicago style pizza, I can't help you there, but a store pizza made in the Chicago area is pretty good. Connies. No trans fats. Pick N Save carries it. I gave up on the $2 pizzas unless I'm desperate.
