So, the guy never actually had sex with a minor in this case, and thus becomes another human doing time in a government cage for a non-crime.
I remember when a teacher asked
a boy what he wanted to be when he grew up:

A 14 year old girl.

Of course, he became an internet vice cop.

Look, someone from Alabama--a Howard Stern fan--supports pedophiles.
Is anyone surprised?

Cases like this point to our society's ridiculous inconsistency when it comes to sexual issues. We condemn some perversions, tolerate some, and are actually expected to celebrate others.

The hard real-life truth is that all cases of sexuality not being in its designed context go against the "greater good" that no one seems to care about anymore (much less sacrifice anything for). This is true of everything from pedophilia right down to hasty marriages that end in divorce.

There is no greater sign of a real man than the ability to master his desires. The great irony about sex is that you're not qualified to deal with its presence unless you're able to deal with its absence.

OK, Einstein: Fair warning. If you show up at my house with a box cutter, kiddy porn, and a week's worth of obscene coercive conversation with my 13, 12, or 9 year old son or daughter, I will shoot you with my 9mm and try my best to kill you if there is any way at all I can prove self-defense. Count on it.

And, please, wise up. People frequently do hard time for "non-crime" attempts to do bad things; it is called "conspiracy to commit" a crime or "attempted [fill in the blank]." And, yes, genius, even the Florida legislature is smarter than you when it makes attempting to commit a felony just as bad a crime as if someone didn't get stopped and actually went through with it.

You are either dense or dangerous, but probably both.

<quoted text>Careful with the mud. His intentions aside, the guy didn't actually have sex with an underage girl. It's a non crime. I'm not saying this guy's a winner or the type I want dating my daughter, but 15 years is outrageous. Judge not lest you be judged.
Actually, it is a crime to do what he did. That's why he's going to prison.

And I'm happy to judge him, and welcome the same judgment if I try to have sex with minors and drive to their home with a bundle of child pornography and a boxcutter.

The line from Matthew instructs us to avoid hypocrisy. It doesn't tell us to excuse criminal behavior.

You WILL be judged, so exercise good judgement.

<quoted text>First of all, it has become routine for cops and prosecutors to lie to advance their careers. Recall the Duke non-rape case a couple of years ago. Second, there isn't actually a victim here to testify against the perp. So, yes, I'm skeptical. We should always be skeptical in any case that could result in locking someone up for so long.
Mike Nifong lied and it ENDED his career. If you want to lie for a career, go into politics or business, not law enforcement.

There ARE victims in child pornography cases. You think he went to prison for anime?

i was interviewing for the golf course before this happened and i am ashamed and despise him for this. to think i actually let him meet my wife is so ridicious now and i regret it. this man needs not probation but psych asylum asap after jail not to be released in general population. its been proven once one always one. how many repeat cases do we have.
