dont go to Ocean Springs lumber unless you want high prices and bad service. They will tell you what you want to here but after you pay and expect service it will end up badly. Just look at there extinct garder service. I mean who cannot make a garden business prosper in Ocean Springs which is full of gardens. You cannot charge more than other stores and lack good service. They survive off of the very wealthy who have money to burn or do not know better, or newbs.

I bought my roof from OS Lumber after the storm. Prices were competitive on materials (yes, I shopped around a great deal), and they had a wider selection than Lowes and Home Depot, amazingly, in the colors that I wanted. Typically, though, I shop there every month for small items like screws. Haven't felt they were any less or more helpful than any other place, but they seem to be evolving with the area. If you are out of town and looking for items, I would recommend including them on your call list for comparative prices and selection.

They were rude to me as well.
They gave me the impression that they were doing me a favor by helping me,
and could I hurry up and leave the store.

I just moved here and can't wait to find some other store.

Ocean Springs Lumber has changed. The staff used to be courteious and helpful. They are not anymore. I don't know WHY things have gone down-hill but they have. I live within walking distance of OS Lumber and even with gas prices rising hourly (seems like) I will drive to another store. Please keep in mind I was a LOYAL customer until recently. They are way over-priced and half of the people working there do not know a doorknob from a screw. This has been since Katrina. That's around the time they began to go down. I think perhaps they stopped caring about who they hired when they had so much business... well, I hope that whomever works there DOES read this: I'm telling you guys the truth - from a customer stand-point you need to step up to a level that is a least two or three steps above where you are now.

I can tell you not to go to OS lumber on the weekends. If you do, you will get no help. Do they even realize DIY's have jobs during the week. I guess if you dont sleep with them, they wont cook you breakfast.

I see a new hardware sore is going to open on hwy 90 next to Cingular. Seems like a bad time to open a hardware store. Building is not exactly booming.

I have found OS lumber to overall be an ok place to shop...more often than not because they are close and I don't feel like driving back to Gautier for the second or third time of the day. I have never encountered anyone that was rude there. However, they do have a limited selection compared with Lowes. I got to OS after the storm and would have to say that like many businesses in the area where I have had poor experiences, the storm probably did help them!

I just went to the new ACE Hardware in Ocean Springs and they had some really good service. I bought a STIHL power tool and then they filled it with gas, showed me how to use it, gave me some free safety glasses etc... It is was nice to have the special attention, I have not been treated that good in a long time and the price was good.

I have been doing business personally for 30 years and my father-in-law 50 years with Ocean Springs Lumber. I have always been treated with the greatest courtesy and respect.

They always stand behind their products and exchange products. I have done all types of business, built complete houses and all types of repairs using Ocean Springs Lumber exclusively with absolutely no problem.

If something was sent out wrong it was always exchanged or credited. I would recommend Ocean Springs Lumber over any lumber yard on the Gulf Coast. I have done business with several before settling on Ocean Sprngs Lumber exclusinvely.

I do not understand the other posted comments, maybe the management wasn't made aware of the problem. It has been my experience that some people are never going to be satisfied regardless of the compromise.

OS Lumber has been in business since 1925. They must be doing something right. No other hardware or lumber store has hurt them. They are truly fine people. People who slander others are pitifull souls. May GOD forgive them.
