OCEAN SPRINGS -- An effort to be friendly to the environment and hurricane-prepared prompted the purchase of a Global Electric Motorcar for Ocean Springs, Mayor Connie Moran said Saturday.

doesnt she realize that she could have saved the city some money if she would have bought a golf cart. She wastes a lot of money. this woman needs to be thrown out of office before she bankrupts the city.

wonder why

there was an article in sound off in the sun herald that says Moran doesn't have an inspection sticker or a tag for her electric car. anybody know how long she's had it --

An article in the Mississippi Press says the car was purchased two months ago.
BTW, Bulldog, I know you and I discussed Chinese restaurants a while back but now I've forgotten what we said. Another senior moment; sorry.

The City has had the car for more than two months and it cost more than $10,000

so why no tag or sticker? maybe its not a requirement for the mayors vehicle!!! maybe the money she's saving the city by driving it could be used to buy more flowers around town!

Connie is a good democrat. The car was purchased with other people's tax payments. A grant of some sort. So it did not cost us locals. Just the saps that pay federal taxes.

I think the alternative type of transportation is a good idea, it would be nice however is the community where given more details on the purchase. How much did it cost? Was it paid for through a grant? Is it for personal use also? Who drives the vehicle? If she backs over our elderly citizens again will it still hurt, LOL.

I saw the electric car at city hall today and it had both a tag and an inspection sticker. I also found out that the city wrote a grant for a whole laundry list of items and the electric car was on the list and it was approved. So no local tax dollars were used to purchase it. Pretty good deal.

Was it an Ocean Springs Greyhound Tag because that's what was still on the electric car when I looked at it about two weeks ago. If it has a legal tag now it's because someone brought it to the publics attention.

it needed a tag -- she may wander off Washington Avenue into another part of town. Everything she and the city does is on Washington Avenue or right in that area (except for the new safety building, which we do need). The city needed to get her a tag for her electric car.

She dosent need to be driving AT ALL. She almost killed one of my friends grandfathers. How the hell she ran over him is still a mystery. He was in perfect health until she practically killed him. Poor thing has so many health problems now its unreal. Keep her dumb ass off the streets!
