So you pick on animals instead...mmmmmm....I'll bet your psychiatrist has fun with you. Ask Wally for a lolli...I'm sure he has an extra.

Well lets see, the same reason the citizens are forced to fund a park for kids to play at, a canoe path up Fort Bayou, a nice walkway on the beach, the sign to the entrance to downtown, etc. You know here is the thing, you can take your dog anywhere as long as he/she is on a leash. So they can be taken to ALL of those places and for people like you who complain about the dog crap not being picked up, well if there was a dog park the dogs could go to people would rather take them there than to the other places. I have taken my dogs to the Peter Anderson Festival, Halloween downtown and the beach. They are well behaved, better than some kids. If someone doesn't like it when someone takes their dog in public even though the dog is on a leash and being good then that's there problem not the pet owner or the dog.

^ i agree with the majority of what you say though i do not think you should bring your dog to an already overcrowded peter anderson festival.

Last time I walked on the public beach in O.S.,someone had discarded their kid's shitty pamper on the ground not 10 feet from a trash receptacle. It was disgusting, but heaven forbid they put it in the trash can or even worse take it home and put the smelly crap in their own garbage can.My dog and myself were thouroghly disgusted. He even kicked a little dirt on it as if to say...yuck!!Give me a dog over a screaming, disruptive kid in any public place, any time.

Last I heard physicians still can prescribe allergy medication. Plus if being close to a dog or cat in an outdoor setting as we are talking about...well they may as well stay home because the real world is full of animals, pollen and other allergens.

^I shouldnt be forced to take medication because you want to bring your dog into such close quarters. Why should I be finacially burdened for something you want? On a typical saturday im all for dogs downtown but when your dog is rubbing on me or drooling on me because he wants to move through the crowd at peter anderson and the crowd is busy looking at art that puts me in a position that I shouldnt be forced to embrace.

i'm in the process of acquiring a bichon bolognese, and would absolutely love to have a dog park in ocean springs!!! i've never actually experienced a dog park since the last time i had a dog was about 30 years ago, but both my sisters (who live in michigan) talk about the dog parks they go to, and it sounds like a fabulous idea!:o)

Do you serve it with aioli or a bit of basil mayo in nicely warmed pita?

Dogs can be annoying. Kids sure as heck can be annoying.
Dogs will bite people. Leases tangle between unsuspecting visitors legs.
Kids rarely bite strangers; and should not be kept on a leash (though I've seen that unfortunately)
There's the difference.

Jerry wrote: Why not barricade both ends of the bridge and turn'em loose there? They're already shitting all over it anyway. Jerry sorry to hear you have such a bad opinion of dogs. It's very unfair to penalize the people who do pick up after their animals. But I guess I shouldnt expect anything less from a small minded person who insists on using such language.

The nerve of small minded people.
