Dog Park in Ocean Springs

Everytime I walk my dog around my O.S. neigborhood I frequently think wouldn't it be great to have a dog park, that's a safe place to exercise and socialize with my pup. There's so many benefits.

Do you think O.S. is ready for a dog park?

I'm certainly not trying to be funny, but the beach is a good place. The dogs who like the water certainly love it, as well as others, too. I see many, many people down there with their pets. Also, city put dog toilets for waste disposal. I don't know, but certainly hope they are being used, by dogs.

Thanks for sharing. And I've brought my dog out to front beach a few times too. Although I wasn't sure if it was legal. But just like with my neighborhood, there may be times that there are folks on the beach who are real dog people; and if my hyper dog happens to run by them it makes them uncomfortable. Whereas with a dog park, everyone who comes and brings their dog to that designated off-leash spot will be able to both enjoy and socialize together in a safe enclosed area with no probs.

Perhaps we should get a group together and see about planning a dog park. There is some good info on the web on how community members can get one started

I understand that only leashed dogs are permitted on the beach, which runs counter to the idea behind a dog park. A dog park would be a great idea however.

Why not barricade both ends of the bridge and turn'em loose there? They're already shitting all over it anyway.

I often think that it would be awesome to have a Dog park where my Mia could socialize with other dogs. she has such a good time when she is with other dogs.

I often think the same way... I would love a dog park where I could take my Mia so she could run around and socialize with other dogs. She loves running around with other dogs and playing~just has a blast.

OS does need a dog park. Walter, if you don't want to see the dogs, don't go.

Mobile is getting ready to open a dog park at Medal of Honor Park and I have heard that HSSM is trying to fund raise to open one behind their facilities in Gulfport.

Two years ago there was a person complaining about dogs at the Anderson fest and I'll bet it was the same guy who let his son run all over the place like a wild animal. Its sad that my dog was well behaved and his son was the one acting badly because he couldnt discipline the little brat. Maybe we should ban little kids from the Anderson fest!
