Strip club is way more valuable to Boynton Beach

Boynton Beach has bought a strip club. Is this a great county, or what? OK. So they only "bought" it in the technical sense.

"Maybe we should do away with the subtlety altogether and just call it City Hall."

We'd have to reinstate the prostitution, as we're already getting s.crewed at the first city hall....

And people wonde why their property taxes are high. Now some back room deal with some developers will be sought while some back room deal with consultants to find out what to do with the land and building will be hired, and then finally sold as a loss to some shady character promising some valuable project blah blahh blah .......

This is slowly starting to become a dangerous trend, Folks! Local Governments deciding that they just don’t like something and using taxpayer’s money to buy it up and sell it to developers? Do you think that some people down at city hall might get a little kick back on this deal???? Don’t stick your head in the sand, YOU BET THEY ARE!!! One of these days a city commissioner’s developer buddy might just decide that he needs your business location to build his new condo complex!!! Think about what’s happening here people!!

I talked to the owner he said they hiked the property taxes so high he couldnt afford it anymore, also something about they offered to buy but he refused until it was too much pressure and basically a takeover.

I realize Mr. De La Cruz is attempting to be clever, unfortunately he is neither talented nor funny enough to pull it off. I also question his lumping of liquor stores and tattoo parlors into his list of "nuisance businesses". Seriously Mr. De La Cruz, are you living in the 50's?

Too funny Ralph! Thanks for the laugh.
Perhaps you could write another story about the CRA and the Commission trying to legally designate the CRA area, including some residential areas, into a Brownfield. The May 20th BB Commission meeting should provide lots of material for another piece.

The reason so many of the city leaders in Boynton are against strippers is because so many city employees are gay. Fact.

They should have kept Ovation open in the same shopping shopping center. There were some good punk shows there.

Buying the strip club is a bad move, why are they spending money on redevelopment that will have empty stores and businesses that will open then close 6 month latter? This is not the time to build. Boynton should put the money into cleaning up the crime in the area hire more police,

Maybe they could compromise and have theme nights for the Gerbil Jammers. Hows "Colon Cowboy Night" sound. Lets not forget about the lesbo's. They could have "Vagitarian Night"

It is ridiculous that at this time when we will probably have to use the City reserves just to keep things going, the City goes for this absurd purchase which will be turned over to a developer to build more residential units. Someone is out of touch with reality. Who do you think it is?

I know you meant for your article to be funny and witty Mr. De La Cruz but I dont believe there is anything funny about strip clubs or never will be. We all know these places are fronts for prostitution and drugs and the diseases that run rampant in those bars boggle the mind, the employee's are nothing short of paid hookers and are strung-out on hard drugs, most have STD's and are barely surviving, they infect customers and risk lives, I fail to see anything comical about strip clubs now or ever.

As I stated above I realize this was supposed to be light hearted humor but I doubt sir you would ever risk or expose yourself or loved ones by walking in one of these diseased dives, and I sure you would not want loved ones working at such a place. Strip joints degrade and destroy and there is nothing funny about that.
