$50 million county building proposal draws praise, scorn

I have been to the county offices. PLEASE!! they don't need a customer friendly atmosphere and waiting area. What they need is the people who work there to be more friendly. Nothing makes people furious when they go into these buildings and see the waste of taxpayer monies on these buildings. Hey, a waiting room is a waiting room. I have never heard anyone say "oh I had to wait long but the place was state of the art and so beautiful". They just want the wait to be short. We are not planning on moving into these buildings as our home it is just an office. Stop spending our money on stupid things. Fix the buildings up and they will be fine.

Isn't this country and this State in a monetary crisis?

Aren't homeowners complaining about high taxes?

And NOW TWO commissioners - Burt Aaronson and Mary McCarty want new construction, to sell PUBLIC land and take out a BOND to pay for these buildings!

Are these people traveling in wrong circles or what?

Who do they associate with that tells them to build, sell and put the county in more debt?

The people they are talking to are RICH!

Aaronson and McCarty also want to SELL public agricultural land (purchased with the people's money) for "CIVIC" purposes.

Civic purposes: meaning the developer of the land does NOT want to fork-over any more of their property for civic use.

Let the developer contribute some of their land for schools (by the way the school district uses taxpayers' money to PURCHASE land. The district has nearly a billion dollars in land that has been "banked".

Civic use does that also mean cemeteries?

The shame of all of this is that a rich, private buyer WANTS additional land to build a PRIVATE school.

No land, purchased with public funds for agricultural use, should be SOLD without the public's vote to do so.

Come on FEDS...how much longer do you all need to see the back handed deals going down. These people have been in office so long they know how to fiddle with the law.

The commissioners propose something, have numberous public hearings (wear out the public -by having to take off from work, find baby sitters, cancel dr appointments just to continue to show up at these farcical hearings.

Concern being that ALL the other commissioners help these TWO commissioners pass this proposal.

What corruption, what trickery, and this stuff has gone on for centuries.

Eyes are finally opened.

Make a change. Vote OUT INCUMBENTS!
