this is unacceptable, if people start getting mugged in Pineapple Grove and Atlantic Ave. this will destroy all the efforts put forht in making this a destination for people in Broward and Palm Bch counties. Hopefully the police are all over this and apprehend the hoods.

What's new? This is Delray. My wife thinks it is a cool place but there is so much bad stuff going on there that no one wants to discuss because of the "cool image" Delray is supposed to have.

That blacks are involved isn't proven but it is, in my mind, highly likely since the Stunned Sentinel didn't describe them otherwise. So, what else is new?

The Great Society created this mess, giving us 3 generations of blacks that, in percentages that far out strip other American demographic groups, have become addicted to entitlements, are unskilled, unemployed and imprisoned due to a crime rate, especially with violent crime, that far exceeds any other demographic grops.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am tired of seeing this love fest on TV, an apparent "black appreciation" movement that is being thrust upon us all. Comrade Candidate Obama demands that "white America" has to do more for and to better understand the problems of "black America".

We know what the problems are, but no one seems to want to do what is necessary. Pull the plug.

All good points. But Bob B states the most important point - if Atlantic Ave & Pineapple Way get the reputation of being unsafe, then people are going to cease coming there to party and relex, and will spend thier money elsewhere.(Forget about growing the already struggling Pinapple Way/Grove area, under those circumstances.) The result is a downward spiral in property values, tax reciepts, etc. Delray officials and police had better addresss these safety issues, to head off this result. If and when our neighbors start petcieving Delray as unsafe, it will be very hard and expensive to change thier minds. Delray officials - don't let this perception of an unsafe Deleay take hold!
