Does City Council really think that the majority of local residents in Ocean City enjoy having "biker" events in town? Two days worth of motorcycles racing up and down Coastal Highway does not show any respect for our town and local residents. These are not the types of sanctioned activities that the residents want. City Council members are a bunch of idiots.

You my friend are a troll.
How can you call yourself OC Local when you live 7 miles away in Cambridge ?
As a REAL resident of OC I can say that bikers really only bother the tourist.
We really like having them here.

I agree! It's the money, money, money. The money just goes to one of their "pet" pockets -- errr I meant pet projects! We have respiratory problems and we moved here because of the cleaner air. But with all the CARBON MONOXIDE that is pouring out over the city with every "vehicle" event, we are seriously thinking of moving out of Ocean City.

You really aren't that smart when it comes to computers. Depending upon the location of your ISP, that will be the location that appears! AOL could show up in Virginia. So what, who cares. The comment is what is important.

well, I must say that the Bikers are a great group of people that are friendly, professional and spend a lot of money here. Don't assume that the rest of us don't want them here. The noise may be loud but overall they are better behaved than any of the other groups throughout the year. Ask any bartender or waiter/waitress whom they prefer and you will consistently get "the bikers". If you have a problem with them then leave town for a few days.

WHY are you saying you are a local if you live 7 miles away?? The ONLY locals are the ones that live right there on the beach and as one of the bikers that went there, I had everyone from the taxi drivers to waitresses to hotels tell us they LOVE us which proves to me that soemone like you who travels down to the next town obviously goes there and uses their resources yet does not tip or treat them with respect. Until we come barrelling thru Cambridge, dont worry about it!! We just brought THOUSANDS of dollars to the city in THREE DAYS- I think everyone there appreciated it!! Whats the matter - are you a stuffed shirt wishing you were on a bike with the breeze blowing on you??? Stop hating!!

WHAT are you talking about???? Your USERNAME says local nimwit-when you arent. That is what we commented on. WHO the H*** cares that you have a standard answer about computers????? Bottom line is - EVERYONE THAT MATTERED, the police, the residents, the service providers, EVERYONE, wanted the bikers there, made money from the bikers and ENJOYED the bikers because believe it or not, over 50% of them are lawyers, doctors, and other respectable professions, who like the freedom of 2 wheels and the family feel of any "biker event"! SO STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE. Its over! They (we) were there for 3 days and kept businesses in business another week at LEAST. Not counting prep time! FUTHER MORE - to you or whoevever made the black smoke comment - 10000 motorcycles doesnt put out the crap the busses that run up and down there all day and every day do just stopping one time!

Bikers are welcome, but not the noise. I have a condo on Coastal Highway, and I had to leave town Saturday evening. The noise was so loud my place was vibrating; it was impossible to read, watch TV or sleep. We have to pay each year for a "Noise Permit" and post regulations about noise limits; how come these guys can disturb everybody with their noise? The cycles can run more quietly; they should have to follow the OC noise regulations. I resent being driven out of my place by them because of the noise.

Sounds like poor planning on your part.
If you wanted peace and quiet you should have built bayside.I sat on my deck this weekend and really didn't hear a thing. That's why I built here.I can turn the resort aspect of Ocean City on or off.

I come with a group of about 15 people. We stay at the plim Plaza. They LOVE us and welcome us back every year. Each of us spend about $2000 while there. Bike week brings millions of dollars to what use to be a dead September or better known as "off season". "BIKE WEEK ROCKS IN OC"

I feel your pain, buddy. There is no need for Motorcyles to be that noisey. If my car was that noisey I'd get a ticket. I asked a Harley owner once why harley's are so loud and he said it's a safety thing so people could hear us better. WTF!!!and he was dead serious. OMG, if the idiot only knew about the "Doppler effect" and how noise waves traveled he would understand how stupid that sounded. Ever hear a BMW bike? Probably not as they are very Quiet. Honda, same thing.
Bikes are getting louder and louder and I think the time has come for some needed noise regulations. Contact your local political leader and lets get the ball rolling.
I too heard bikes ALL NIGHT LONG and didn't like it.
I suggest for now that OC has a curfew on bikes, lets make it reasonable say 2 a.m. after the bars close. Then at least we can get a few hours of sleep.

Thats the way it is, shut up and live with it. Harley's are loud and we are proud of it. That's why we show up by the thousands. You don't get 150,000 classic cars there do you? We love it, and you town want the $$$$$$$$$$

We were down right there on 45th street! I agree, poor planning! We had know problem sleeping, sat outside on the porch of our condo and slept in until 9:30 or 10:00 AM each morning!

You know, the "biker" crowd is a very good group of people, spend money, aren't cheap and treat everyone well! I can't wait until next year!

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Libra

Instead of retreating into your own little world, get out there and spread some love and joy to all those around you. Be sure to pay close attention to the things that make others truly happy - often it can be the simplest of things. Libra is the most sociable sign in the Zodiac and you'll be in your element at the moment. You don't need to go overboard, though, and pick up everyone else's tab!
