"Like other global-warming deniers, Taylor has never submitted his opinion for peer review by actual climate scientists ...those scientists would reject his ideas out of hand,"
Good Point!
"...reject his ideas (like others) out of hand"
This means- reject opinions that disagree with AGW before looking at those opinions ("out of hand").
Do not review any literature unless it supports the premise that Man made CO2 is/will destroy the planet(IPCC Mandate).
This approach is precisely why AGW claims cannot/should not be perceived as legitimate science.

Most posts show that the sun cannot be the driver of warming since the 70's.
"Most posts" separately or in the aggregate do not constitute "evidence".

This is no "straw man". It is a key point.

The gist of the above statement "that the sun cannot be the driver of warming since the 70's" is pertinent.

The question was, "What changed?" You didn't answer.

Ok, lets try this one. What if climate change is occurring due to another shift of the earths axis? Each time we have an earthquake of , say 7.0 or whatever, the echo reverberates through the core of the earth and around the world. Wouldn't this fluctuation knock the axis a few degrees off kilter, thus changing the way the climate is felt at different locals throughout the globe?

Lets also say that the change in the polar icecaps have unbalanced the tilt due too the change in weight at each end of the earth. Nothing to do with mankind, only the constant changing of a planet that never rests.

I understand solar physics. No, I don't claim to be an expert, but I have a working understanding.

Your previous post corrected "most posts" to "my posts".

My comment is unaffected by that change.

"Your posts" do not constitute "evidence".

<quoted text>the sun is not a "device" its a ball of plasma at the center of our solar system. and nuclear fusion and atomic theory were once "new science" just like climatology is a newer science. your opinion of nincompoops being thrown out of buildings is a stretch. NASA, NOAA, AMS, etc etc are full of nincompoops? the science of the sun is not all summed up. there are still problems and we are still learning. atomic theories and fusion are still developing as well.
my "philosophical" remark was in regards to the "Not even your faith nor your memory , in the end there will be no legacy's , no recording that we or our planet ever existed , by default , therefore we do not exist now . You got one puny life . I suggest you use it . Back to reality sonny boy . You don't matter." part of your post.
Take notice that all of the institutions you reference in your post are (parasiticly) dependent upon public funding . That means they are controlled by politicians , who care not about saving the world. They care only for the acquisition of power , control over you , me , and everyone else in the world. They are engaged in a monopoly game , with world dominance as the stakes.
The remark is in no way philosophical. This is a simple statement of actuality and fact . That you lack the (mental) capacity to grasp the full meaning and the implications of that same actuality and truth , is not my problem. Things of such an absolute nature are digestable only by those with a fully developed , unencumbered intellect . One who has an understanding of what is real , and what is an illusion. I stand by my statements. So don't imagine yourself to be significant . Nobody is significant . If you are gonna use up your life on some sort of a psycho-jihad , find one with some truth built into it , instead of hooking your future to the delusions of a snake oil salesman. Unless of course , all you care about is the acquisition of power , and control over others.
There are a lot of stupid people in the world , so I guess it is possible that you could succeed . At least we will know who to hang. Maybe not. I'll be long gone by then. On the other hand , I have taught many young people how to get at the truth , so....
All hope is not lost. The end is high ,... the end is high,...
HEHE!!
And one last thing. The stars are devices. Who could devise a more perfect fusion reactor ? You? HeHeHeHeHeHe!!!! Will it have adjustable output , to alleviate global warming ?, will it have cooling fins , or will it be liquid cooled? Controlled by a micro-processor , With software developed by your superior , genetically engineered mind ? Can it be shut down for maintenance ? Can it be used as a weapon to kill ET's ?? Or Klingons ? Can it be used as an xray machine , so we can find platinum deposits to be used in catalytic converters , or will that job be taken over by di-lithium chrystals ? don't think so.. Oh my god!! I think I may bust a vein here. I have to leave now before i laugh myself to death.

One last thing. None of the people (At least , not the smart ones ), within the institutions you cite , believe in GW . They just need the money , and the politicians are just stupid enough to give it to them.( That's why I call the people with a purpose , you know , the non believers, inside the institutions , the smart ones) Just tell the ignorant what they want to hear... And carbon credits ? Just a way to make you pay for the air you breathe. What do you expect ? They are politicians.

The Obama Chronicles, continued....

The Scene: President Obama on the phone with Al Gore.

President Obama: Hey Al, how's it going?

Al Gore: Well, Mr. President, I am making tons of money from speaking fees and trading carbon credits.

Obama: Al, I've got to give you credit for creating a whole industry surrounding all this global warming stuff. Who would have thought that the guy who invented the Internet would again be successful creating this!

Gore: You know, you need to come up with something to make a billion or two when you retire.

Obama: How about Michelle and I get start the ball rolling for legalizing pot? We can begin with it being a proagriculture, anti-crime initiative, and then expand into selling kits to the masses for growing it at home. We may even be able to replace Chia pets as one of the most popular Xmas presents.

Al: You're the man.

Coming soon, to a country near you:

(cough*cough*cap&trade*cou gh*cough...)

In an unholy marriage between Big Brother and the Tax Man, the Dutch government will now be monitoring, via GPS, every driver in every car in the country for purposes of taxation.

The Cabinet approved a bill Friday calling for drivers of an average passenger car to pay a base rate of euro0.03 per 1 kilometer (7 US cents per mile), beginning in 2012. Drivers of heavier, more polluting vehicles will pay more, and the cost will go up for driving in peak hours.

Allegedly, this is to reduce congestion and, of course, "carbon emissions."

Seems every scheme for saving the Earth comes down to giving up more freedom and more money to the Government.

The Dutch people acquiesced to this scheme in exchange for reductions in other automobile related taxes.

But, guess what's written into the law...

The tax will increase every year until 2018 and could be adjusted if it fails to change traffic patterns.

Suckers.

Cold feet in Copenhagen:

http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_137...
Obama retreats on climate change
President expected to discuss arms control with Russia
By JENNIFER LOVEN
Associated Press

SINGAPORE — President Barack Obama and other world leaders agreed today that next month's much-anticipated climate change summit will be merely a way station, not the once hoped-for end point, in the search for a worldwide global warming treaty.
.... Hopes for that have dimmed lately...

"There was an assessment by the leaders that it is unrealistic to expect a full internationally, legally binding agreement could be negotiated between now and Copenhagen which starts in 22 days," said Michael Froman, Obama's deputy national security adviser for international economic matters.

A couple of notes on the stupidity that passes for environmental policy among the Progressive Elite.

First off, Australia has already enacted the type of Cap and Trade regulations strongly favored by the Obamacrats in Congress and the White House.

The result: Energy prices immediately shot up 20% and will double by 2015.

Of course, only right-wing lunatics point out that cap and trade schemes are massively expensive and completely ineffective.

Also, according to a new study, land use has a far greater impact on climate than "greenhouse gas" emissions.

Urban sprawl has more climate impact than SUV's, but don't expect the progressive elite to jump on this because urban sprawl in the US is caused by immigration-fueled population growth.

And it is forbidden on the left to even discuss limiting immigration.

So, we have to pretend that the US can "welcome" millions of illegal immigrants with no environmental consequences.

Just like, we have to pretend that drilling for oil off Brazil is environmentally benign, but drilling off the American coast will destroy the ecology of the Earth.

Not so harsh JRS. Most of these retired or unqualified references made private opinons, not claims of science. And most probably didn't do it for money.

State Climatologists are political appointees with 'rewards' for service. They are NOT required to have ANY scientific credentials. Basically, they have NO power and thus can do no harm while at the same time feeding off the public trough.
JRS wrote:
For every outspoken scientist like Pat Michaels there are dozens of less verbose but equally committed men and women who do not buy into the Administration's point of view.
Yup. For every scientist 'bought' by the fossil fool industry, there are quite a few 'cranks and carckpots'. We have NEVER been able to reduce the 'extreme wingnuts' below 3% in ANY field and 3% of say 20,000 climatologiests is still upwards of 600 individuals.

Odd that you have to root around in the retired, senile, out of touch, and political junkees to find any cranks that dispute AGW, but then you could find three or four cranks (like your 'list' above) probably denying gravity too.

The real point is that hot air from (ex)scientists is still hot air. Not ONE scientific paper of any crediblity has been published showing a flaw in AGW theory. Some minor 'revisions' have been proposed, such as relative forcing from methane vs CO2 but the facts of AGW are still there.
