Why Greece Really Wants Macedonia to CHANGE its name!

Sunburst....budka, this is what is going to happen. Makedonija will receive the name "The Republic of Macedonia" and from that we will enter the EU and NATO as per that name. However, out of that agreement, the Greeks can use a composite name, ie FYROM, Novamakedonija, Rep of Macedonia-Skopje, thats what they will do. These Majmuni are just scared that we will seek territorial claims ie Ejgeska Makedonija. That won't be necessary...you know why? Coz the minute Makedonija enter into the EU, the EU have an open border policy, meaning citizens of each country can come and go as they please, meaning Makedonci will once again reunite as one.....as for the Greeks well they can sit and watch and suffer for the pain and suffering Aegean Macedonians went thru for so many years. For God's sake, their are brothers and sisters who are 20km apart and can't even see each other becuase they are considered to be communists after 50 years....Jesus what has this world come to, i thought the Greeks were a democratic nation who pay respect to other cultures and religions. We are both Orthodox for God's given sake, we should be respecting one another. Not hating each other. Ok i am Macedonian. My parents are from Lerin or Florina. However what annoys me is that a Greek from that area would have more respect for an Albanian that what they have for a Macedonian....it sickens me....they should be ashamed of themselves.

Yes you are a Macedonian of Slavian origin. Most likely your ansestors were a mixture of Bulgarian-Serb-Greek local people. Dont tell me you are not a Slavomacedonian.

Also dont tell me that because you wish to be called Macedonian a Greek Macedonian dont have the right to be called Greek Macedonian or Macedonian of Greek origin.

In fact in Greece, Greek Macedonians are the majority and Slavomacedonians or "Macedonians" as you call yourself are a minority. Same goes to Greek Macedonians of FYROM. They are not allowed to state they are Greek Macedonians. They must state they are Greeks or Macedonians. They should have the right to be called Greek Macedonians if so wish.

The major problem as I see it is the name of FYROM. If called "Republic of Macedonia" it refers to Greek Macedonian land as well as Bulgarian. It is a matter of PRINCIPLE.

About the name "Macedonian, Greek, Greek Macedonian, Bulgarian Macedonian, Bulgarian or Marsian I think everybody has a right to call himself as he wish.
Same goes about a language.
Everybody knows you speak Macedonian (Slav) but if you want to call it just Macedonian, it's up to you.
Of course with the name it is wrong to call FYROM as Republic of Macedonia, as well as try to prove that Alexander the Great Greek Dorian Macedonian that he was a Slav. You say you dont care and that's correct. Greek Macedonians care because he was one of them.
I think all Macedonians, Slavomacedonians and Greek Macedonians can live as brothers, not argue like little children, but the name must be settled.
