You really have got to be kidding me. This has been going on for 4 years. 4 years since she took control of the property. Anybody else would get 30 days to throw out the renters or be subjected to a fine or court summons. Anybody out there have any examples of this double standard in action?

I hope someone is looking into the statue of limitations on coming into compliance on this. Also, I wonder if the Fields are trying to acquire the road or rite of way by some archaic means like common law's adverse possession ? There are specific things they need to address when making this 'land-grab' and I hope the the victims look into what the rules are so that they may be able to stop the hostile and nefarious actions by this elected town official. Shame on you Virginia ...

Has the income on these properties been reported on her tax returns for the last 4 years. I'll bet you not. Rules, laws, and taxes only apply to those who are not politcally connected. I'll bet you that will be the next headline.

Newsday....why is it that in all the articles involving Assemblywoman Ginny Fields it is never mentioned that she is a Democrat? Now if she was a Rep. or Conservitive I'm sure that wouldn't slip by!

Why isn't the Suffolk DA looking into Fields' systemic disregard for the law and her astonishing abuse of power - as well as the school district changing a bus stop at her request?

Democrats all over the country ran on the GOP being corrupt. As we know, there have been (and still are) some crooked Republican politicians, but the Democrats seem to be far ahead this year, from Obama's appointees to Rangel, Dodd, Frank, et al.

I predict a GOP resurgence in 2010 at the midterm election.

OK Roger … I get it … you have spell check. Sorry I slipped and it is ‘Statute of Limitations’.
But did you even know about ‘adverse possession’? Or about the actions of closing off a property in a hostile and nefarious way. Legal terms Rog (sp ?). Why don’t you stick to researching and understanding the elected official’s behavior rather than checking my spelling.
And, thanks Rog … I’ll keep going after the BIG IDEAS and you take care of my light work like checking my spelling. Have a GRATE day … oppps ?

Actually, Fields was originally a Republican but became a Dem after her own party didn't back her.

The "Adverse Possession" Law has been changed in New York State - scumbags like Fields can no longer "swipe" land from their neighbors as easily as it was in NY State - in fact, NY's law was woefully outdated. Unfortunately, the law is not "grandfathered" - so political hacks like Fields and her cronies can "carry on" with existing civil court action - typical NY, isn't it???

What I find VERY disconcerting is Newsday/Topix DELETED the posts/threads yesterday on the neighbors' lawsuit with Fields - some of you that posted here had posted on those threads - my question to Newsday/Topix - WHY?!?!?!?!? Ol' Ginny or her "legal pit bulls" threaten Newsday with a lawsuit? Get a spine, Newsday/Topix! Fields is a stereotypical LI political hack - and she needs to be put in her place!

For all of you that live in her district, you need to start organizing NOW to kick Fields' butt out of office!!!

On yesterday's Newsday blogs ... I can still get to the URL at:

http://www.topix.net/city/oakdale-ny/2009/02/...

Try it and I hope it helps. And thanks for clearing up the issue of adverse possession. I hope she doesn't benifit from that at all ... however, she is crafty enough to possibly make it work for her. That is why I pointed it out.

I hope you guys can get to the posts from yesterday at the above link.

It wasn't in the print version today, and it wasn't in the print version yesterday, but the affiliation is now identified on the web site. I can't help but think that pointing this out to Newsday more than once had an impact.

Thanks Believable, for the link - it did work for me...

With respect to adverse possession law - you're welcome - I have firsthand experience with it (I'm not a lawyer), and fought someone to a standstill who tried to use it...believe me, VERY gratifying...

However, what is distressing is that if you go to the specific Fields'/lawsuit articles through Newsday, you can't view the thread from there (as you could previously)- I'd like to hear Newsday's lame explanation on that one...

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
