Susan Chiniewicz - murdered her newborn

I live in The Colony. Susan should be behind bars but instead she is walking around town as if nothing happened. Saw her the other day at Walmart trying on bathing suits for heaven sake! Her husband was with her they were acting like lovesick teenagers! Since when did murdering your child become such a common thing as to allow people to go on about their lives like nothing happened????

I have known her for years and it's horrifying to see her flaunting around town acting like nothing happened. I can't wait for her trial so The Colony can be rid of her for good.

Why are so many people in The Colony on witch hunts? What are you wishing to accomplish?

I don't think it's a witch hunt, I think it's justice. She should NOT be free to walk around town. Just imagine what that poor baby's only few minutes were like before dieing. I knew her before the murder and didn't know she was even pregnant! The fact that she hid the pregnancy tells you she had every intention of doing this. In fact, how does someone go into a restroom, give birth and leave without anyone noticing. She must have had a a baby delivery/murder bag on hand with changes of clothes and all ready to go. Unbelievable!! This is one woman I do not want around my kids.

I agree she should be in jail until the trial. Is CPS monitering her other kids? I'm sure most of you know who the father of baby Joseph is now too....He's walking around like nothing happened either. When is the trial anyway - haven't heard an update.

Who is the father? I heard something about it might not be her husband!

The FATHER of the child is another not to be trusted person who has a reputation of being a real womanizer. If not for the fact that I don't want to humiliate his WIFE and children...I won't state his name..He may not have even known until after she threw the baby away that she was pregnant. I hear he's keeping a lower profile than usual these days.

By the way...SHE HAS FINALLY BEEN INDICTED..they are SEEKING A LIFE SENTENCE!!!!!

I wasn't aware that ANYBODY but Susan knew who the father of the baby was. Not even her husband I believe.
I was led to believe the whole community was rallying around her and her family. Guess not?

I totally agree. I tried to post comments about them,feeling sorry for the kids(who I knew),in the in the colony website. I got my remarks booted off. Does anyone know when the trial starts?

Which TC website booted off your coments? Everyone feels for the kids, most are horrified by what the mom did...

The investigators know..they have questions, friends acquaintances, co workers...they have mentioned the alleged father to the people they have questioned. Who told you the entire community rallied around her??? When the story first broke, some of her friends and neighbors supported her, but I think now that everyone knows the baby was ALIVE at birth...most feel she needs to face up to what she's done.

According to the Brazos County Justice Online, a date has not been set yet, just the actual indictment.

Their local forum,www.inthecolony.com . We knew the family from back in 1996. I flew with her husband a couple of times. We did a lot together, they helped us move, bar-b-cue, they were the first to welcome our son into this world. However, there was something always about her that rubbed me the wrong way. I'd even cancel dinner with them(my husband was furious but still went over). To tell you the truth, when I found out, there was a little part of me that was not at all surprized. Stunned, yes, but not surprized.

Susan was a member of many organizations and most people who new her liked her. Is it so hard to understand we feel betrayed? Especially when, as others have stated, she's walking around acting like life's a party!

misinformation is great! Her kids are on some of mine's teams. She and her husband are friendly if spoken to but never go up to start a conversation. They sit by themselves at all games and practices and you never see them around town unless they are shopping at one of our 3 stores in town. To me it doesn't look like life is a party.

Wow, I didn't check back for a while and there are some good comments here.
Susan and husband have never been the type to walk up and start conversations. Their in their own little world as they always have been.
Inhorizon's comments don't surprise me for some reason and you have to go by your gut at times and I can understand why you chose not to be around them.
My personal feelings on why she might have done it is FEAR...losing husband and kids etc. Though I can't see someone doing that after looking into the face of a newborn so innocent and dependant on her, we may never know what she was feeling. I DO believe that precious, innocent little boy is in Heaven now and am grateful to that little church that so lovingly did the right thing and gave his body a place to rest and a memorial that he even existed. I pray that church is blessed for that!

I was shocked and stunned to hear of this news last year and I am still feeling that way. I had met Susan and her husband a few times, though my husband & son knew her husband very well through motor-cycle racing. I have no doubt that she is guilty, but I am still having great difficulty in understanding how this really nice person could have done this. There is simply no excuse but I do believe there has to be a reason.

I'd love to know what it was that bothered you about Susan...not to judge you but to see if it rings a bell with me....
