I wasted one lady's five minutes and she told me no anyway. And she didn't even mention a stalker thing, you'd think if she was worth her salt she would have. How did *I* know if the dude was gonna snap or not?! I *could* have been in serious danger and the system would have failed me! And I highly doubt my trip to the courthouse prevented a battered woman from getting an order of protection, so spare me.

"Every child should have an inalienable right to be nurtured and reared in the country and culture in which they are born," So if my biological parents decided to move to..Australia when I was 5, I should have some 3rd party advocate saying it is more important that I not move than it is for me to have loving stable parents in another country?

Yeah, I loved that line. What a crock of shyte. No! Those kids must stay here, where they can scavenge for scraps on heaps of garbage before they die of AIDS or something easily curable in the Western world, like their parents before them and their parents before them! It's their heritage.

I wish I had your weather right now, I'm a sweater so humidity kills. When some Floridian mentioned taking multiple showers I was thinking it seemed excessive (how easily we forget), but what did I do last week? Took multiple showers many of the days.

J and I are going to have to decide what to do with SIL. We took her to camp yesterday, after giving her a nice loooong list (but easily completeable in the 2 days she had--hell, it was maybe 2 hours of work) of chores to do before leaving. We were in a rush to get out the door and stupidly did not check her room until we got back. Garbage everywhere, hidden food. I pulled back the comforter on her bed and there were open cookies, chips, a toothbrush, a dirty sock and a bunch of other things. It was so gross. Open candy bar on the floor under her bed. J had told her that if we had any more problems in this regard, we were sending her home, and I said as much last night when we discovered this. But...I don't know. It's *really* not a good environment for her over there. Torn and conflicted. I'm sure J and I will discuss heavily in the next week and a half that she's gone.
