something positive

how bout all the positives melrose has to offer??? this site seems to demonstrate and promote all the negatives of our town. what about the positives? like all the youngsters who go to college? for example, louie salvino a 3.5 student at U of I, and joe cucci on a full scholarship for hockey in boston. Just a thought maybe we should show our positives rather than always harp on our negatives.

I agree with this completely. We have many kids who are doing something with their lives and making something happen. This board seems to always bring negativity to Melrose. We also have lots to be proud of, like these two kids who seem to be doing good with their lives. I'm not familiar with these two kids, but I know for a face there are a lot of kids in this postion and other who accomplished great things in their yooundl lives, and for this I applaud them for doing better than some of use elderly who never thought of education as an important part of life.

I would say there is a handful out of a big town. It's pretty sorry MP is full of a bunch of underachievers. Everyione knows someone who can get them the police or firefighter job. MP'ers settle and you can tell just by the mediocrity in your town... i feel bad for MP

DUMB-what a sad comment. I personally take great offense to your feeling that police and firefighters are underacheivers....ask some of the firemen who were at fires running in when everyone else was running out. Ask some of the police who helped the firemen get people who are stuck in autos that were just in bad accidents and pinned in....children & babies included. Or ride in an ambulance while a fireman is doing CPR all the way to the ER....and if it were you or someone you love....I know you'll be praying that you don't get an "underacheiver"! There is plenty to be proud of the Melrose Park! If you think that MP is that bad...feel free to travel elsewhere!

It would be nice if police and firemen followed the law or at least showed some morality. Unfortunately in Melrose it comes down to who can you make a buck off of. Some family has a problem then don't help them trump up some BS about them and make money off their misfortune. I am confident that when these people eventually die and meet their maker they will get their karma for using their power to sadistically steal from hardworking decent people.

If you have proof or evidence of these accusations, bring it to the States Attorney. They love to hate Melrose.

DUMB what a perfect name because you are dumb!!! You have nothing better to do with your time then hate on Melrose if you hate it soooo much and were all losers get off our local topixs and go write about your town! There are many kids from MP that have gone to college and or are in College my self being one! Most of my childhood friends are all from MP and all went to college. WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT "DUMB" ass!

Melrose Park has some great businesses. Tom's Steakhouse is the best in the area -- great food, friendly people.

What are you talking about? How would you like to see a fireman or policeman show "morality"? That makes absolutely no sense. Do you know of a policeman or fireman who has not helped a family because they didn't have any money & then made up BS about them? These accusations are totally ridiculous. I have never heard anyone say such stupid things. If you have a problem with MP move out - who cares?

I'll give you an example. I would say about 15 years ago when i was a kid i went to the MP fest. There were about 8 kids picking on one kid in front of a group of cops. Theses kids starting getting violent punching the kid in the face and pretty much beating him bloody. The cops were about 25 feet away... they did nothing just laughing. Do you know why? because they were related to the cops. The same mentality goes today. Too bad this keeps good families from moving in to MP. I know you'll read this and say times have changed. It's evident with all of the trials and public officials going to jail it is still going on. YOUR TOWN IS GOING NOWHERE FAST! YOU NEED A NEW MAYOR

People should not have to move because there are crooks running the town. Why don't you move so then maybe people with class can move in? I've seen many cases of no good cops in Melrose. I still remember Simpson telling the newspaper that he didn't know the law They really need to hire cops with some brains and morals. Not the type of cops that break the laws and have to be watched by the Fbi. As for the fire department Billy Campanelli is a good example of what I'm talking about.

I wonder why so many people who work for the village are so stupid. There is a cop who puts parking tickets on cars on private property. They also put tickets on new cars that say they are inoperable. How does the cop know that when the car has been parked there for one day? I even heard of building inspectors recently finding their own way into someone's house and writing inspection complaints. I just wonder how some of these low class morons were raised. They are probably related to the morons that other melrose morons voted for.

Melrose is a disgusting town because of all the low class people who live there. So many of them have no manners and no consideration toward others. Sure am glad not to live in that scummy town. Remnds me of Cicero.
