I'm feelin' good. thanks for the support, this has been a long, lonely fight...w/o seein' the little man and all.

not good. I have sort of figured out my attorney has spent all this time plumping up his bill - I did not even see the judge yesterday (now mind you, I have a signed order from the Court, setting yesterday as a review...he specifically WANTED to hear my case...) my attorney told me that no one was ready, the guardian ad litem's report was not complete, etc. AND that actually asking for custody was a "long way down the road", we were only going for visits.

I am furious, but really sad, too. I just wanna see my grandson and hug his chubbiness and all. I am going to first get a new attorney (will need to take out a loan at this point, this joker got all my savings), fire this guy and demand half of what he got from me back. I am going to report him to the State Bar Association, too.

Sorry to rant, I really thought he would be here for Thanksgiving dinner with the rest of the family, but now..........

hey, I fired the 'douche'(as my son would call this loser) and I will see a new one on thursday.

It is good, I'm more annoyed that I got suckered a second time.........geez, I work in a prison around a bunch of 'cons'-
you'd think I could spot one a bit sooner...

Who would of thought that a "free man" would try to take you down. I guess he didn't know who he was dealing with. Good luck with the new one!

It's not like asking a friend where the best butcher shop is, or where they find the best produce. Finding a good lawyer is hard.

Good luck with the new one Deb. I hope he's passionate about these types of cases!

Court again on Monday, I will most likely be given guaranteed visiting rights while the custody is waiting to be ruled on. We're optimistic and I am really hoping this is the last weekend w/o my grandson.

Deb, I've kept my fingers crossed this whole time! I still believe all of this will work out in your favor.

Will do. I'm going to ask for him on Thanksgiving, too,(as well as the weekend guaranteed visits until the final trial) since they have with held him for no real reason other than spite..

I have an order, signed by the Judge, saying I get visiting with my grandson EVERY weekend. And the DNA has been taken, will have a court date for custody before the end of the year.

I see my grandson in three days!!

I am so happy for you!!! You have got to be on cloud nine! I had a good feeling about this. Maybe you've opened the door for other grandparents in your state.

So what are you going to do with him this weekend? How old is he now?

He's 17 months, and I'm sure he's a totally different little boy. When I saw him last, he only spoke one word clearly. I'm really excited!!

We are invited to a friend's one year birthday, these kids were friends of my daughter's and spent a lot of time with the baby because they were also expecting their first, so they're excited to see him again. That's all I have 'planned'. I'm just gonna have to see how it goes. He has never seen his room and it is adorable, so that will be fun and I have a play area set up for him, too.

Yep, still here (where else would I be??). I may be out there this weekend getting rid of the last of the leaves that are finally coming off my trees (and the neighbors as they all like to congregate at my place!)
