If the disabled are not physically able to get a photo ID, how is it they are physically able to vote? Seems like it would take simular motor skills.....

It's a ruse. THey have no trouble getting all manner of handicap aid, the voting issue is just a ploy to induce pity. Most people with handicap licenses tell you alot more about themselves especially their driving skill and IQ than they realize. Go to Walmart and get a Photo Id and get a passport.

I agree with the part about it being a ruse/ploy. But what the hell do you mean about their driving skills and IQ?? Please...you are revealing your IQ by lumping all handicapped people and their driving skills/IQ as substandard intelliegence.

My point was and sarcastically so, it that probably 80% of the individuals who use a handicap license are not handicapped but handy-capped, and simply neither deserve the use of parking places reserved for those with disabilities. Merely, they are old, or LAZY, Morbidly Obese, or reveal other abnormalities which were not intended by this license. PERIOD. Get off your "highhorse and shoebox." The movie is about to start!

Please direct me to "all manner of handicap aide" you have referred to? This is an insult to anyone that has a disability!!! I wonder if this guy actually served in the military? At least if he served in a US military!

Yet you group these people that are not disabled with those that are indeed disabled? This is an insult to every American that is disabled, especially those that were injured in an act of war! More Americans need too learn and think before they speak

I'm curious as to why the law exempts people over 62 from having their pictures on their DL. To me, that is much more idiotic than requiring an ID to vote. Why should anyone be exempt? People in their 60's are much more likely to be poor drivers. If there is no picture on the DL, they can simply swap them around.

I am disabled. I have a DL, handgun permit, retired military ID, passport, dept of VA ID and that is just off the top of my head. There isn't a valid reason that if you are still alive, that you dont have a picture ID. Unless you are trying to cheat the system, and vote for somebody else, or vote more than once, or let the "dead" vote.

I believe that at least once every 10 years from the time that you 1st get your DL, that you must take and pass the written and road test. If you cant pass either, YOU CANT DRIVE...Come back and try again next month. And that everybody must have a pic ID until the day they pass away. This isnt discrimination because of age or disablity. I have seen too many people of all ages that cant drive. We should just have the same standard for all.

Thats easy, there is a powerful group known as the AARP, you can't cross the AARP. That is why the elderly are exempt. There is no "powerful" organization for the disabled! The disabled are poor and cannot afford the dollars to support themselves let alone support a national organization that helps them in the political sense of the word. If the disabled came into a group and had the money to create such a powerful organization the disabled would all be able to vote absentee in Tennessee. Tennesseans tend not to be a generous lot when it comes to the downtrodden in the state. Tennesseans tend to gripe about the tax dollars being spent on silly projects in Washington and in the Governors mansion, rather than to take care of the physically ill-equipped folks of Tennessee.
