Obama states that he is against reparations and is for improving education and improving the schools. Help me out here. What good does it do to continue to pour money into a school system that is totally broken? The teachers want hazardous duty and combat pay just for showing up. Police stations are operating within the schools just to keep the peace. Obama is totally misguided, education and discipline has to start in the home. What does he plan on doing about the single parent families where the children are totally out of control ? What are his plans for stopping Black on Black crime ? What are his plans to reduce the incarceration of young blacks (12% of the entire black population between the ages of 20-34)? What are his plans to improve the graduation rates of Blacks in the school system ?All I am hearing from Obama is a subtle accusation that the white race has not done enough for the minority population. The problem is that we as a nation are still treating the welfare people as slaves with all the welfare, and Affirmative Action programs. Welfare citizens accept the handouts and hate the majority for making it so easy for them to barely survive. Come on Obama, get some balls and start telling what it is going to take to turn your community around.

Look at the poorest states in the union they are Red states. Roosevelt had to help us get out of the depression, everytime there has been real economic growth in the middle class (not corporations) check what party was in power.

The illegitmacy issue is the fault of the woman. Why is she having unprotected sex with a man that already does not support his other kids? Why does she have unprotected sex with a man that has no job? Why does she have unprotected sex with so many partners that she doesn't know who is the baby's daddy?

Why are my taxes financing all of this unprotected sex? Our welfare system should have a limit on the number of kids that the taxpayers will support per claimant for benefits. After the woman reaches the limit, any future children born to her should not be the taxpayers responsibility and the mother should be rendered infertile.

There many different races of people who can't afford college...not just the black race. They blacks have MORE opportunities than other races because they ARE black. What about the United Negro College Fund? But, they ARE losing ground with regards to their minority status and they are losing it to the Hispanic population.

Health coverage? AIDS has been talked about for many years and having unprotected sex should not fall on the taxpayers when the uninsured contracts HIV/AIDS or STD's. I will acknowledge the innocent acquiring of HIV/AIDS and STD's in the cases of tranfusions or rape, but a police report of being raped must be filed and a matter of record, as well as medical records of having received a blood transfusion, prior to the date of the diagnosis.

Besides the logistical impossibility of figuring out who and who is not even eligible for reparations (my father is the descendant of slaves, my mother is the descendant of Irish immigrants, do I qualify?), I would also ask those who support reparations, what do you think this will actually do? How does a token check account for centuries of subjugation? Many large firms, and banks in particular, benefited from slavery - are they going to pay for this too?

In Texas a few years back, there was a study on attendance at the state's top public universities. The most underrepresented groups were poor urban blacks, and poor urban whites. Subsequently Texas changed its education laws with the support of urban democrats and rural republicans. Shifting policy to open opportunities to economically disadvantaged kids can absolutely be color-blind and at the same time benefit a number of historically disadvantaged groups. To me that makes more sense than arbitrarily deciding who has been a "victim" and cutting a one-time check.

I honestly believe that the so-called Negro, must become conscious. We are in a dreamworld state of extistence where we are happy to be led where others "decide" that they want to take us. I remember when all our people wanted to do was to make the race look good. We wanted to shine for each other! Now since we have assimilated into Euro-American culture and values, we have become spiritually, morally, and consciously dead. The walking-dead, devoid of self-knowledge, and it is our fault! Barack Obama is one man, to put the entire weight of a race of people on his back is unjust. We must help the man, by helping ourselves. Let's get back to the consciousness of our ancestors. Every last one of us have an role-model in our families that cut through the distortions of miseducation to pave the way foward. That is why we are here today! Our grandparents who bought homes, and raised families on an inkling of what we earn today! We've got to make some sacrifices, we've got to give up this European materialism, and get back to what is real, what is right. What we know we have to do! We have become more and more unconscious in our dealings with each other, that is the only thing that has changed. Whites have not changed their attitudes toward us, to them we are something to be "tolerated". We have stopped loving each other, and have become unconscious.
