The Mayor really needs to wake up about the crime in Norwalk. He is in total denial. So what that these thugs saw the Guardian Angels walking around with their red berets and walkie talkies? These thugs tried to scare and intimidate them. If these were police officers walking the beat, would you say the samething?
Gunshots the other night on Linden St. which is nowhere near South Norwalk, but at the bottom of that hill last year a fight broke out and a young man was found right around the corner at McDonalds slumped over dead!
I never ever see the Norwalk police in their cars! I could go days without seeing one in Norwalk. Where are they?
I can't wait to get out of this City!
If you're thinking about coming here to live...don't!

The Mayor is in total denial of crime in this city.
These thugs tried to intimidate and scare the Guardian Angels. Do you think if these were police officers walking the beat Mr. Mayor, they would have no business being there as well?
Gunshots were heard the other night on Linden St. This isn't the first time and it's nowhere near South Norwalk.
This is where a fight broke out last year and a young man was found slumped over dead right around the corner at McDonalds.
You complain about Stamford? You're safer on the West and East Side of Stamford than you are in Norwalk!
There are days that go by that I never see a police car around. What does that tell you? Where are they? Not enough patrolling!
If anyone is thinking of moving here...don't!

Don't expect any support from Rev Bolden on this one, mayor made he a bunch of promises to take care of the minorities, week after that the city hired a company that brought illegals down from Danbury to work in the city.

Mayor is in denial, listen to him speak, the rest of the state has qualified people running their cities and towns and Norwalk has politicians running the residents around.

Even the republicans are wondering who they have other than him to run for office again.People in Rowyaton have seen a spike in crime houses are broke into all the time something we are not reading in The Hour.

Mayor Moccia you are wrong simply admit it and leave our city alone you clearly have done enough.

Any "crime fighting group" has a right to help any city that needs it!! Norwalk is def one of those cities..I live in stamford..and boy we need them too..wonder who we contact to "invite" them to stamford??? I'm sure all residents would appreciate their help.

Norwalk is unhappy with mayor Moccia. No one who pays taxes and has to walk the south Norwalk streets are asking the Angels to go,how absurd this could be even to be suggested.

Not in all cases.
Explain that about the child in Florida and all over being taken from her bedroom.

There's a fine line.
Local governments have reason to fear such efforts becoming outright vigilantism.
Is most of SoNo a danger zone? You bet!
The presence of the GA is not a cure. It is a symptom of loss of faith in local government's ability to make "protect and serve" mean what it says.
The Angels are not THE answer.
THE answer is grass-roots, house-to-house, block-to-block refusal to tolerate "the street" and all it entails terrorizing their neighborhoods. Until the good people living in SoNo are willing to stand together, to name names, and to deny them comfort, these goons will remain their masters.

So more police and laws is going to stop a guy from climbing through your widow at night and stealing your child?

your right Vox Pop but the community needs to see what six guys can do,when 178 police can't make a dent the momentum may be whats needed. No one stands behind a losing team and that is what we have with Mayor Moccia. Its not the cops fault they have no time to walk the streets the streets is where the crime is not in our bar district at night while the cops sit and wait for everyone to go home.

No one is stopping crime they are onlt responding to it.Whats that say to the crimminal?

This is our local paper that calls itself a news paper. How is it news, if it distributes yesterday’s news the day after tomorrow? Maybe. Shame the publisher and editor fail to take note the realities of today’s mediums and markets. If they could transition to a more in-depth documentary style from the current kitty litter box lining format maybe those boys could start hiring instead of liquidating. Quality not quantity of branding is the business model of sustained success and growth.
But instead we get kids trying to get ‘write bites’ that have no depth of understanding of the issues or people, hence the fragmented feel good crap the hour consistently churns out. Hire some real journalists and brand with integrity and quality or take out the shovels and put it to rest. There is no longer a market for soft feel good stories. People are frightened and they want the truth and for journalist to uphold their constitutional obligations and get the stories out that have been repressed for far too long. If the Hour wants to compete they certainly still have a chance, but where is the leadership with vision to understand the demographics and the markets?
Far too much occurring locally that is not receiving any ink, support our newspaper? Why they are so out of touch they can’t feel or see the ink all over their hands from their poor quality ink and paper that gets smeared all over their customers clothes. Can’t call it a NEWS paper, they don’t print any news, no in depth inquiries, never rock the boat, just push the ads. Okay but that approach is sinking the ship. Just look at the editorial pieces. Is their not one bulb in that house that is bright enough to hire a managing editor with talent and vision and backbone?
If there was, would we not have seen some light by now? Quietly the barons take one after another; soon Murdoch, Bloomberg and Hearst will be the only surviving three. What happened to anti trust laws? Good bye Hour, you wont be missed, you haven’t deserved our dime in a long while, oh yeah you charge half a buck now. Talk about out of touch? What does a customer get for half a buck? Absolutely nothing, the customer, hasn’t already accessed, elsewhere, the day before yesterday. R.I.P Hour. Hearst may have the professional courteousness to write an obit. Perhaps not.

The more light shed on the problem(s) the better.
In that vein, the GA presence can be a step forward.
Now the Stalwart Six need to get parents, neighbors, merchants, business owners to stand with them, to call unending attention to who and what is wrong, and to "take back" their streets and neighborhoods.

A child can't defend himself!

Daily Horoscope for November 25

Gemini

The Moon and Mercury combine to create confusion, so don't take anything for granted today. A vindictive co-worker may be at the heart of today's misinformation: you could have stepped on this person's toes unknowingly. The only cure is to check, double check, and triple check before making any decisions. Then, keep looking over your shoulder for the rest of the day.
