Dear Friends,
There has been a lot of talk recently that the Village of Stone Park will be closing the fire department and contracting another town to run emergency calls in our town. This is attempt to correct the budget from years of reckless spending and mismanagement. We need to stop this before it happens. This is where our tax money is going. We need a mexican mayor who understands his people to run our village. There is a board meeting this tuesday, we need to show our unity as a community and put a stop to wreckless spending and the cutting of village services. How safe our we in our own town without the fire department and police department. Do we want the Stone Park of the 80's and 90's again with rampant crime and fire?

That village would be better off getting rid of it's fire department based on how it is currently being ran and how it was run in the recent past. The fire department in that town has severely fell below service standards that are upheld by all of its surrounding neighbors. When you get down to the real question here it should be do you want to keep running with the sub-par part time fire department that very frequently are not able to provide the professional service needed or would you rather have a professional fire department contracted to serve the village better and in a more professional manner. I agree the mayor had a huge hand in destroying the fire department that once was however this is 2008 and you could sink a ton of money into trying to save that department that will never run right nor provide the service that it should or get with the time and provide what a village should as far as fire protection goes....professional dependable service. Down with benny

That FD is BAD. My grandfather passed away a few years ago and when I called 911 to respond. They were some how routed to the wrong address. Given 911(the police dept) gets a print out of the name and address. I sat there waiting for them for what seemed like forever (5 mins or so). I sat there and watch my grandfather laying there in desparation. I tried calling again and could not get through. So I ran to the FD which was a few blocks away. I had to bang on the Firehouse door and advise them that we needed help. When they arrived they all just stood there debating what to do. It's very sad. I'm sure that with what happend, my family could have had some sort of law suit. But this really tells you a few things.

This Fire Department is far better than others they are dispatched by NORCOM out of Leyden Township Fire Dept., Bldg., sure contracing with another town sounds good, but when that town is busy (Only so many men on duty) they will then refer it to someone else even fartyher away but still in the MABAS area Stone park is a member, examply ask Elk Grove township about THEIR contracting days with Mount Prospect , or any small town that contracts with other slightkly larger departments Stone Park will be reduced to a bastard child, last on the list Etc.

Your right a union fire department would be what this village needs. That's the only way to provide a professional service. The is the solution to the villages problems. It is impossible to run a fire department thats not union. I'm unsure how over 70 percent of the country is able to provide fire protection since most are not "professional" or fulltime. Maybe you two could come here and show them how to fight fires since you two are professionals. Infact why don't you stop by and say hello and share your feelings with them in person. It takes a big man to post here and hide behind an internet connection. I'm sure they would enjoy hearing your point of view. But remember your words may get you into trouble if you stop by.

Well I'm impressed so why don't check areas that gave up their Fire De4partments first then comment on this issue, when you CONTRACT to other towns for service you will be served after that towns / townships needs ARE MET first ,ie; need a ambulance OUR TAX payers come first so well send a RESERVE ambulance as soon as the that PAID on CALL guys show up to staff it., or they request a MABAS back up from further away, but hey your just a little town among larger ones, remember in a cardiac emergency you have what is called "The golden hour', the longer it takes ,the less chance of recovery or survival, so whats worse a ambulance four blocks away, or one thats miles away you moron.

union or not. this dept fails due to who runs it.
they replaced a crappy chief with a known thief. how is that better? someone should look into his back ground, including his personal training records. him and his friend trevor. they seem to have everything. hmmmm i wonder how he got all those classes?

The SPFD lost a member in the line of duty today, out of respect please refrain from the comments and use the time to remember a fallen brother.

Jesse, my friend, why are you not in the town you grew up in (SP) helping with this cause? Why did you back out of Stone Park and leave your Mayor/Owner with no help. How could you do this to the town you actually lived in (parents basement) for years? So now you packed your bags and moved to Melrose for what? Come back to Stone Park and fix the mess that you and Ben have made here and let's see how "connected" you really are, friend.

Radical Tim,
I just spoke to the President of the United States.
He denied your denial of the above statement.
Any questions please write to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington, DC 20500

And what exactly did they deny? That Jesse and Ben have run the town into the ground, or that Jesse lived in his parents basement in Stone Park?

We need all the help we can get. My friend's uncle works for the Public Works in Stone Park and we are telling everyone that the Fire House is closing and the Public Works Department is next. We know this isn't true but we have to do what we have to do to get these guys better paying jobs. Hector promised Sr. Samuel the foreman job so we need to help him. Even if it's lies, these people won't know. Help get the word out - PLEASE
