Altough I dont' live in Suffield Mr. Begley's appeal makes a great deal of sense. Neglect does not justify demolition. A gift should not be so easily displaced. Preserving heritage, culture, architecture, memories of an era, its people, its community, and individualism is vital to future generations and their understanding of history. This should be the goal of every community in the State of Connecticut. This library should be preserved and restored. Enlargement should not effect the original structure but compliment it. This is a worthwhile pursuit...saving history, revering a gift, and honoring generosity.

Have you seen the building? It's not much to look at. Good riddence.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't the building been deemed "not repairable" ... aside from it being horribly ugly? Maybe 36 years ago they should have built a building that would last... many homes in Suffield are 200+ years old, and are in great condition... yet that "modern" dung pile is already rotting away. I'm for taking it down... replace it with something that will last
