Students say gymnastics coach 'groomed' them

That statement is not fair to the teachers, coaches, etc, who are doing a great job helping raise strong healthy children into confident self disiplined adults! I work at a business where all we do is work with children, and their best interest is always the priority! Making a statement like that is very ignorant and makes you sound very un-educated. Now if you had said always look into the history of the business and research the people working with your children that would be better advise than just trashing every business that works with children.

I have my daughters taking gymnastics and dance and I coach the rest of their sports. In this day and age I can'y believe the amount of parents that hardly even slow down to drop off their kids. People feel that just because it is practice they have better things to do until something like this happens and then they blame the establishment and all the good people who donate time to give childre the opportunity to participate. It seems that people get their kids so involved in different things instead of having them with them and getting to nknow what is happening in their lives.

There are more victims! Let it be known that all 3 STEVES are scumbags. The limitations will not allow for some of the older cases, which is a joke.

may daughter attended Olympia in the late 1990's - i never left her alone there - for no other reason than i support me kids in all they do - if more parents attended their kids practices/competitions and such things like this may be avoided. granted if they are at "sleep away" camp the parents cannot be involved - but they need to keep a CLOSER eye. and if they have several children in sports or other groups they may need other relatives to help them be in several different places at one time - IF YOU ARE AN INVOLVED PARENT IN YOUR CHILDRENS LIVES - THINGS LIKE THIS CAN BE AVOIDED

WE sat at our daughters practices. The issue was we were NOT TOLD OF THIS MAN AND THE ALLEGATIONS THAT HE HAD AGAINST HIM. WHEN WE QUESTIONED THE OWNER AFTER WE HEARD THIS FROM THE MEDIA SHE TOLD US SHE DIDNT THINK IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR HER TO TELL US. SO BULL++++ we are involved. We were not told!!!!!

These are people who the parents thought that they could trust. And these two predators took advantge of that. Infante would always say, "deny till death" I bet taht the parents feel awful about this, what they could have done, etc. But the fact is that therse two creeps were just that, preying on the weak ones. The whole thing sucks and I hope they get what they finally deserve !

I attended Olympia and was coached by Steve. I also went to camp one summer. The difference was that my parents WERE heavily involved. As parents it's important to always have that 6th sense. My parents were never "TOLD" that Steve was doing this, but they were always mindful to keep a distance. They weren't the parents that stayed at the gym the entire 3 hours that my practice was, but they were always supportive and asked if there was anything that they should know. With everything coming out right now, they are still asking me if he touched me. He never did...but that doesn't mean I'm not sensitive to those poor girls who didn't have the safe experience in gymnastics that I did!

Let's not turn the Steves into victims by threatening vigilante justice. Let's support the judicial system and these brave women who have come forward. And let's do everything we can to support reform in USAGynmanstics and other organizations to stop this type of behavior.

with all do respect "just me" the parents were "groomed " also , my parents felt as though they trusted and respected him. He did this over years of doing good things- coming over for the holidays included. In this case there are a lot of INVOLVED parents who have also fallen prey to these men-
and Sam you're dead on- statute of limitations wont allow all of us to come foreward but at least if they are FINALLY outed and possibly put in jail, the gymnastics community will think twice before allowing him back around.
