Last Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 I was standing in my kitchen, around 9:20 in the evening and was startled at what I saw.
Over the trees, looking North, I saw a one dimensional circle with a smaller circle on the inside. There were several circles, dark blue in colour, the majority of the body of the circle was a lite blue/green. It traveled North to East. There was no tail, like a comet might have.
I questioned myself as to what I was seeing, thinking it might be a flair someone had set off.
Agian it was one dimensional, traveled in a perfect straight line well above the tree tops. I am estimating that it was far off in the distance, because of it's size, well over Winslow, Waterville area. There wa no sound at all. I was able to watch it for 10-15 seconds, and then it was gone.
I had mentioned this to several co-workers and neighbors, all of whom were skeptical about my experience.
Friday night I was in Augusta with friends and we met a person in a parking lot. After several minutes of casual conversation, he mentioned he saw some thing in the sky the same evening, a little bit later but it's shape and colour was different. He also mentione he saw what were to him as several planes or dots following this object.
I cannot speak for this person, but will contact him to see if he would like to post his sighting.
He was located in Fairfield, on the hill side by Old Pung Hill.

We saw a very similar set of lights summer of 2006 over Long Island Sound off the coast of Darien...several times. Once there was a perfect circle which was travelling across the sky-then the "stars?" split up and each one fired straight out like a starburst....
