Of the $840 billion, only $58 billion funded infrastructure work.$285 billion was pissed away in tax credits and other tax incentives. It should have been the other way around. Everybody knows are infrastructure is falling apart.
Our infrastructure needs $2.2 Trillion of work and we throw $58 Billion at it!? It's almost comical as Congress doesn't take the initiative to do what they have to do to pass an infrastructure bill.

I don't understand. What is it about the word "broke" that people don't get? Broke means no money. It could mean severely in debt. Broke means failure.

The United States is totally broke. So to the point that the money we borrowed may never be able to be paid back. Then what?

Here is a chart of the Pork Bill and how that money was spent:

The reason most Americans cannot face the fact that our Fed Govt is "broke" is because they have never been denied anything. They do not know what it's like to be broke. Since WWII, this nation has seen prosperity never before experienced. It is almost impossible to think that our beloved country could actually fall. We have always been so powerful & so prosperous. Yet, nothing lasts forever, and our country has forgotten the basics, which will eventually bring our downfall.

The United States is the wealthiest nation on the planet, by FAR! We have more wealth in this country than you can imagine.

Food for thought:
We are the richest country
We are the 2nd most educated country
We have the most billionaires in the world
We have the most millionaires in the world
#18 Most Generous Country
#21 Highest Cost of Living

Our problem seems to lie with GREED! We are definitely not broke as a nation! The working people and the government are the "only ones" broke. God forbid, don't raise taxes on the ones who are hoarding all the money, leaving the rest of us to beg and fight over the crumbs they throw out for us.....Just speaking the truth here.

You're funny!!! Kasich tried to let his friend get a pass and slip language into SB5 that would have excluded White Hat from having to show how they spent public money on their failing charter schools. Private schools getting public money then not having the same accountability as far as testing might have something to do with the problems schools face. I wouldn't blame teachers. You just couldn't bring yourself to give any credit for the auto industry could you.

The President’s plan will put Americans back to work in key areas that are central to America’s future competitiveness. It will repair and modernize classrooms across the country and make sure that teachers who have been laid off because of budget cuts can be brought back to work. It will take on the fact that the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) awarded the United States a ‘D’ for the overall condition of its infrastructure. Both to modernize the nation’s roads, railways, airports and schools and to put hundreds of thousands of workers back on the job, the President is proposing a strategy that combines immediate investments in infrastructure with innovative reforms to ensure that the best projects get financing. These investments in infrastructure would not only put people to work now, but also yield lasting benefits for the economy, increasing growth in the long run.

Where do you fail to understand that my money, Kock brothers, or the guy picking up the trash's money is not yours. Just because you want something doesn't mean you have the right even under the guise of government to something you have not earned by work or trading for it. Damn socialists have to have a genetic defect, thinking that other peoples money is theirs to spend

I don't know whether to laugh or be offended by that statement..... I have said nothing "Socialist"! What I said has nothing to do with government control, only morals as to when enough is enough and when you have enough, you realize it and couldn't care less how much more you have and you decide to start helping out those who don't have enough compared as to how hard they work compared to how hard you work.

Your money is yours and mine is mine, I just choose to make mine go a bit further with every penny I spend to make a positive difference in this country. Sorry you don't have any and you try to take your frustrations out on me. Good luck in life. Your attitude will get you nowhere.

If you do it through a non governmental body then that is charity, which is fine. It appeared though you advocated government redistribution via regulatory fees and taxes, which is socialism. I for one am sick of paying taxes which along with borrowed money is spent to assist in the creation of bastards, increase regulation , and generaly pissed away.

There is no more greedy a man than one that advocates increased taxes. To have the government essentially steal and give it to others. Those crumbs are not yours or Obama's to give to anyone.

I am sick of hearing how hard people work and they deserve more. The deserve what the market will allows them. Too damn bad people breed when they can't support their offspring. Those offspring are not my responsibility. People who buy homes they can't afford because "they deserve a nice home" horseshit they should have saved money instead of eating out , having cable, newest game and gadget. My taxes are high enough now.
Just the property taxes that are due at the end of this month are a good example. I have to write checks and part of that money goes to school districts where I don't even get to vote. Yet the people who couldn't be bothered with using birth control get the benefit of that money and I get zero benefit.
It is even worse with State and federal taxes.

If you want the government to have more money feel free to send in extra.

Ain't is sort of deranged and strange and funny, that it is only a waste when government can't take more of your money, they and their nutty media sluts, yelling and telling us about how we cannot afford our tax cuts?

Our problem seems to lie, with too many misinformed voters about how are nation was born & what has made it the nation that is the envy of other nations.

Correct and incorrect Don. You are wrong when you say they have never been broke, but correct when you say they never had to deal with it. When these people are broke, they go to government, and government deals with it for them. That's the problem.

No, there is no truth to what you say. The problem is spending, not taxation. The top 10% of wage earners in this country pay 71% of the federal taxes for us. If this is not enough for them to pay, then please, what percentage should they pay?

Fact two is that nearly half the people in our country pay no income tax at all. Property tax, gasoline tax, SS and Medicare tax, yes, but not income tax.

Don't drink the Kool-Aid by buying into this nonsense about taxation. The only time DumBama is not lying is when his mouth is closed. Here are the real numbers about taxing the wealthy to solve our problems:

Completely incorrect. DumBama has no funding for these projects. He BS's people by saying the rich will pay for them when all their money combined could not pay for all this. Construction jobs are temporary. When the construction is complete, the workers go home and are no longer employed.

If DumBama was so interested in creating jobs, he would have signed on to the Keystone pipeline which would have provided jobs for many years to come. But DumBama is more interested in getting reelected than he is of Americans getting jobs. He needs to buy those environmentalist votes.

I agree. Live within your means. I used raising taxes as an example to show how the super rich are crybabies who act like they are broke and use that excuse to get more tax breaks and incentives. The State of Ohio is trying to recoup tens of millions of our taxpayer dollars that were handed to quite a few Ohio corporations who promised they would hire people if they were given money from the taxpayers and they didn't hire a single employee. Now we are trying to get our money back.

Basically, what I'm saying is, I'm sick of my a$$ paying so much in taxes and we keep giving them MORE AND MORE every single year when they don't need it and our infrastructure needs it in a really bad way. I'm not saying to raise their taxes, I'm saying, quit giving them more of our tax dollars in the form of incentives and tax credits and tax cuts and use our tax dollars for infrastructure where it is needed. At least that would create good paying jobs and our country would be in better physical condition.

I think Kasich is doing a good job so far. I look for Ohio's economy to get stronger within the next couple of years too.

Some of the bigger cities might not be doing as well, but here in Chillicothe we can't complain about too much!

I review this thread every few days for a good laugh at some of the ridiculous things posted here, but this is so ****ing stupid it defies logic...unless one happens to be a devoted follower of Karl Marx. My welfare check? Haha! You would have to work 40hrs a week at $19.09/hr to make what I pay in taxes every week. So, I have a right to my opinion of where I would prefer my tax dollars to be used and where not to be used and definitely WHO should not get another damn dime of it.

I enjoy the friendly banter!!! Everyone should vote their best interest!!! Unfortunately some people have misconceptions about government safenets. Corporations receive tax breaks for moving factories overseas. Hard working Americans lose jobs after working at these factories for years and years. Don't these unemployed workers deserve extended unemployement? Kasich doesn't give a rats ass about education. He only wanted to break the unions for political reasons. White Hat and the voucher program shows it's not about education but instead the rich getting richer through deception and misuse of public funds. The Keystone pipeline is exactly your point about 4500 construction jobs for two years. It's funny you complain about hundreds of thousands of jobs rebuilding a much needed infrastructure. You mention spending but are adverse to actually fixing the debt by increasing the revenue coming in by eliminating tax breaks. I'm amused by your attempt at deception. Compassion allows for the elerly to get medicine. You don't honestly believe other than fooling the ignorant that corporate executives can receive tax breaks then receive huge bonuses and hard working lifetime employees just receive a sorry about your luck the plant closed also I don't want to pay for your extended unemployment benefits.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
