I read the poll results before reading the story, and was surprised that 81% thought it would be either defeated or not actually work if it won. Pessimistic bunch, but probably right. I left the state before the insurance rates sky rocketed. I'd like to come back but I can't see volunteering to be gouged - by anyone. Good luck.

This will be great if it passes. We will all get to be insured by the state run Citizens Property Ins. (after all of the real insurance companies leave). Citizens will never raise the rate, no matter how many times we get clobbered by hurricanes. I am sure that the legislators, insurance commissioner and governer know best.

Great timing!!! Nationwide must have an inkling that this could become law because I received a notice in the mail today telling me they would not renew my insurance in December when it comes up for renewal. After being with Nationwide for over 14 years, they are getting out while they can. They notified me before the 180 day period, so this legislation is going nowhere if you want any insurance companies left in this state to insure you.
