Full story: Las Vegas Sun

Luana Rae Bello has packed her bags to move back to Sacramento. Her paradise had been lost in the smog emanating from the diesel trucks working just 20 feet from her cute little porch adorned with an angel ...

There is something special about North Las Vegas.
I didn't know I wasn't in Las Vegas until I called for my Utilities.

I was sorry to leave.

Previoulsym I had been a resident of West Sacranento. We were called the "Armpit of Sacramento". More complex, there, in that, we were five minutes from the Capitol, yet in a different
County. "Yolo"

Like North Las Vegas, we had an unsavory past reputation.

Yet, we had assets our "Mentor City", needed.(We became a well kept secret.) Living good, without the cost.

I am long gone from North Las Vegas. I treasure my short time there.

Keep the faith. Recognize the incredible "Clout" you have.

Las Vegas needs you more than you need it.

Regards,

Luana Rae Bello

I arrived in North Las Vegas, outside of anything I knew. Yet,the parrlells in restrospect were there.

I had an inctredible view, Villa.

When I awoke at 6;00 AM one morning to over ten big tractor, big construction type vechicles. I was appalled..It went on and gotinsane. All around me, new management included, acted as though I was over reacting????

Important to note is that I am 68. Many residents are far older, and incompaciatated.

I was stressed to the Max, unending, back-up Beeps contantly. What of the older, incapacitated Seniors around me?

Folks, long before I became a Senior, I was around my Sharp Mother, as they turned to me instead of her while helping her around for business. I'd say, talk to her, she is smarter than you and I will ever be. But, I hurt for her humiliation.

Later, the love of my life, eighteen years my senior, was put through Hell; Medical People, and more. He never wore me out. Protecting him from the Insanity of so called Professionals did.

Mine is no islated story. Everyone is living it and with more devastating stories than mine.

The Baby Boomers will make changes, provided they take up the Gaunlet.

While posting "comments" I awaited, the option to review and correct. None came.

Thus, you may read unedited, disjointed comments.

It is O.K. View accordingly.

The Las Vegas population has more important things to consider than disgruntled Senior Citizens. Right? The Sun wasn't addressing the plight of Seniors, but rather the direction of our Unique Town. Balancing the scales between over regulation and not enough regulation in the right spots is the responsibility of all who enjoy the opportunity Las Vegaas gives in employment, investment and Freedom to be ourselves without the confinement of abundant laws, and/or ingrained ideas of a specific region or town's culture. To have the best of all worlds; stand up and be counted.

Exactly. Las Vegas is still a last Frontier. It draws dreamers and visonaires. The gutziest people from all walks of life. It's like God..left a blank slate..trusting man to create.

We can speak up, and be civilized without resorting to laws to cover every move.

Remember, "Lawless" can mean that good people don't need laws to live in harmony.

The best of times and the worst of times.

Everything is a trade off.

Las Vegas Strip is like "Hollywood to Los Angeles".

We own it, but it is small part of the total personality of Las Vegas.

We are a population on all montary scales, of people who had the guts to leave the status quo and strike out.

That won't change; we need to stand up and be counted, and remember how we got here and why.
Viva Las Vegas!

Residens of Las Vegas, appear different. They have a common denominator.

All, left the staus quo of their lives...and opted for possibliities.

Keep this in mind, when you get disheartened.

You moved out.. First step.

Go from there.

Newspaper articles, misquote on several levels.
The basics remain. I knew this lady. She was anything but disgruntled.

Respect has to come before the almighty dollar.

You can't develop a serene haven for Seniors and then sell out to the highest bidder, just as the Tractors and Trailers come in.

I mean, you can, but you can't pretend you give a damn. Check it out..

Standing up for simple consideration isn't limited to seniors. Las Vegas is the "Last Frontier". Most of us came here in hopes of a better life. Marvelous .."Common denominator"..
Th Casinos??Yes.. Like the Auto Industry in Detroit. Respect, but not of. We work hard and raise our families. Respect is our common denominator.

Nothing here was about Seniors; or Las Vegas, for that matter. It was one person, standing up. Which,in turn, spoke for others.

When it gets that simple,we know;

We can all do it.

HOw did I get here. No clue.

Maybe because it is simple..

Somebody saying..No..

It isn't "OK" to discount the individual..
living in their home.. even if it an apartment or??

Common denominator is.. mutual consideration..

If you are driving loud tractor at 6:oo AM ..where Oldsters reside??

You might want to be the one to say..
This can't be right??

I need my pay check..but??

Damn???

Conscience is tested in odd places.

Everything comes back to simple "Decency"..

If you wouldn't want your Mother's retirement Villa .. having Bull dozers and worse @ 6:am 10 feet from her veranda.??

Then?? Don't .

It's about human decency..The guys driving the trucks are just making a living.

But?? Maybe, they need to say.. This isn't "OK"..

The unknown "Them"..or "They"??

Get real. We are all consumers..
Tax payers..
Parents..
Children..

There is no" They"
It is "Us"..
