Scenic route

Full story: Inland Valley Daily Bulletin

The article appearing in the June 11 paper, "Big crash in Cajon Pass" is followed by "alternate routes" to bypass the summit of the 15 Freeway at Oak Hills Road; the routes illustrated in the article indicate to me that the writer likes to travel routes frequented by heavy vehicle traffic, to the north side of the mountains.

Hundreds of thousands have been marching, protesting and risking life and limb to ease the oppressive hand of theocracy in Iran. They know that true freedom is based first on freedom from religious coercion.

And yet, once again, we get a Sunday Sermonette from a local theocrat, demanding that we impose here what millions of Iranians are seeking to reject.

And above it all, Ayatollah Harriet LIES with total promiscuity. She must attend the same church that Vitter, Ensign, Craig, Gingrich, and now Sanford attends: the church of World Class Hypocrites.

There is a separation of church and state. Over 200 years of history, and numerous court rulings in this country proves it. It has served this country very well, why would anyone want to mess with our system of freedom of conscience?

Moreover, despite your fear-mongering, homosexuality is NOT taught in public schools. Do you really think that a teacher passes out tubes of lube and has kids strip? Oh, but of course you do. It is what you've been told by your preacher playing Right-Wing politician.

Get real. Information about the existence and lives of Homosexuals is mentioned, when appropriate. Should we pretend that gay people don't exist?

What you insist on is the very road to oppression and hate. But having the power to barge into other lives is a power rush that is so very addictive. You can smell the power, and all theocrats want it badly.

"Separation of church and state" is found nowhere in the constitution and was added to the "law" by a radical left-wing judge in the middle of last century. The founding fathers sought to protect free religios expression from government, not the other way around. They established the university system as schools of divinity and religious learning; they said prayers before sessions of congress; they established the chaplaincy in the military, and Jefferson, I believe, stated that this constitution and government depend on its citizens' religiousity for it to exist effectively.
Books and movies exploring homosexual relationships are being used in schools, and teachers are monitoring the "tolerance" of the students in response.
It has been said that brevity is the soul of wit. Mr. Hernandez, your last vulgar contribution shows you possess neither. You appear to be a nihilistic ninny steeped in anti-American and anti-religious propoganda. I am guessing you are a professor or in grad school.

Everyone enjoys the shade of a beautiful tree. However I live in Upland and the tree trimmers are removing too much. Trimmers take away not only the part to raise them up so trash trucks can go under but all the good branches up above too. The trees are so barren now even the birds can’t find the shade they seek in this 100 degree weather which we will have for the next 4 to 5 months. What about the kids, they just got out of school? Where can they play when the shade has been taken away? The beauty of our city is going fast, and with the drought situation, we need all the shade we can get. Please help our trees.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Cancer

You may not be privy to every little thing that's going on around you, but so what? Crabs can't always be in control, but you don't need to feel insecure, either. Thanks to your electronic devices, you appear to be a little godlike to those who don't have the same access as you do at the moment. Just make sure that you memorise the important stuff in case the system goes down.
