No doubt everyone has heard about the injustice an Alpharetta High School student is facing from his administrators. If not here is the skinny.
Reuben Lack is a 18yo straight young man that was standing up for gay rights by addressing the student council of his school to change the prom king and queen tradition to include gay couples. On two separate occasions he attempted to give his well thought out written executive order to be voted on by the student council and on two separate occasions he was shut down by the administrators of the school.
After the second attempt he was stripped of his title as student council president and slandered in the media by the Fulton County School District attorney saying he was not doing a good job as president. What they were really mad about is the fact he filed a civil suit in court to regain his seat. He decided not to take this bull jive lying down.
All he wants is to give this speech during his graduation ceremony, an honor he rightfully deserves but this more than just about speeches. I am surprised the gay community in Atlanta hss not stood up for this boy yet. Where are all the strong gay figures in this city? We have the third largest gay population in the country and you are saying we can't stand up for a boy that stood up for us? Are we really going to let him fight this battle by himself. If you are with me sign the petition on change.org
