I wouldn't call her a great girl, nor refer to her family as great. Unscathed...she was scathed from the get go.

Mr. Burkey, well known throughout the Mt. Pleasant community is reportedly a con-man along the lines of the well known "Travelers" specializing in home improvement repair scams. It seems as though the town is getting smaller for Mr. Burkey as he's finding it more difficult to find new victims. It seems the word is out on him.

While being best known for his scams, he's also been the recipient of numerous restraining orders, protective restraining orders, restraining orders pursuant to stalking, and family violence protective orders. Predictably, Mr. Burkey can explain all these away. One of the most common traits of sociopaths is their charm followed closely by their believability when telling lies (which they do incessantly).

We'll monitor case as best we're able and report again as soon as there are new developments.
