Good for Boeing!!! In the beginning the Union was needed, but it has become so greedy and full of graft, that the Union has become useless. While the union bosses become richer, the industries they control continue to go broke.

Greed has once again put honest people out of work. When will this country wake up and realize the unions are the ones taking the jobs away.

It amazes me about these situations.

The UNIONS didn't want to cave in and hold there ground.... What happens.... Boeing leaves Everett and moves to Charleston.... What did those workers gain. They are out of that job.

The steel mill in Georgetown... They are told this has to happen or they will have to close down... Workers/unions won't concede any salary adjustments. What happens.... The mill closes down and they are out of work.

I can understand not wanting to take a pay cut. But lets say I am making 15.00 an hour and take a cut to 12.00. That is drastic. But if 12 is better than the 8.oo I can get elsewhere its better to take the cut.

Would Boeing in Everett or The steel mill in Georgetown been better off conceding or are they worse off because they lost there jobs because they moved or closed.

I am suspecting that some of those working in Everett could hire on in Charleston. But that is I guess speculation if they wanted to relocate.

You Boeing workers just got pimped by your own union. They screwed you until you were used up. Now your just a waste of their time. They got what they wanted. They told you everything you wanted to hear and you gave them what they wanted. What do you have to show for it? So what, take a pay cut, it's better than nothing or for that matter not having a job at all. Take the pay cut and curb your spending habits.

Even in a lot of these jobs. Boeing, Georgetown Steel. Taking a pay cut would pay more than most jobs around the area.

The unions' days good days are far in the past. Why should a company pay someone $15 an hour to sweep a floor? That is ludicrous. Why should incompetant workers be protected? Unions were established to protect the workers. Measures are in place now, industries have changed enough that many recognize the value of a happy employee, and unions are so filled to the brim with corruption that it will be a bright day in America when they are abolished and recognized as no longer needed.

I believe in a fair days pay for a fair days work. Union employees are over paid and under worked. How long can union facilities be competetive with union employees and union wage/benefit packages?

YAY! For Boeing.

There is no doubt this is a great boom for this area... It's also going to create a lot more jobs for other businesses.... A win win

But they media and people keep talking of 3800 jobs from Boeing.. Like there is 3800 more opportunities for low countries unemployed to find work.

But my question is... Out of these 3800 jobs?...

How many of them are going to go to already educated, already trained individuals that will move here from Everett Washington.?

They had on the news last night and it looked that about 90 percent or better of the workers had college degrees, so that will leave out many. Half being engineering, the rest degrees in other areas.

How many are going to be filled by current employees moving to charleston..1000, 2000, 3000, etc

Someone making 20 dollars an hour in Washington would find there dollar stretching farther in Charleston per cost of living.

IT will still be a help in housing, restaurant, etc. But I don't think there are going to be 3800 jobs from just the Charleston community that so many I think are eager about.

Looks like more things that the World Trade Orginization should have a look at with this deal being done. Boeing and the U.S government complained about Airbus and the Governments of european union, when this deal is no better than that as well.Hope the W.T.O take this deal into consideration when handing down there ruling on the Boeing receiving incentives from U.S governments in the next couple of months. Then Boeing should be as well eliminated from the aerial tanker competition.

Have no fear the union will just call Obama who will have Nancy Pellosi write a law saying that Boeing can't move.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Scorpio

A loved one is extremely upset today, and you'll soon know all about it. Things are out of proportion, so a minor hitch becomes a huge drama that means you've got to drop everything in order to calm them down. Hey ho. At least it won't last long. If you're doing some last-minute Christmas shopping, you won't have as much patience as usual and nor will anyone else.
