Great job Sheriff for not putting up with corrupt, unethical officers. There are some in your position who would've swept the incident under the rug just to maintain a do-no-wrong image to the public. My hat is off to you and your I/A Unit. I hope each and every proven dirty officer has his certification pulled by the Academy and is prosecuted if found to have broken the law.

I think their taking the saying protect and serve a little too far, especially the serve part. As for them using the department car they do the same thing here in Richland County. Deputies use the patrol cars for their own personal use.

Here's how this works. The Cops seize the drugs, cut the drugs, keep half, turn-in half to the evidence locker, use the other half to get the crack ho's high for sex. It's considered a perk of the job. Misconduct in office no doubt and it probably goes much deeper within this law enforcement department if a LT has been suspended. SLED needs to interview the local escort services!!!

I am so very sadden by this. On October 6, 2000 my eighteen year was murdered in Aiken County. He was from Columbia but was attending college at USC Aiken. My family and I just wrote a letter to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office explaining our outrage with their performance on being unable to bring my brother's case to trail. There has been a person charged in the case since January 2001 and no trail.
I then look at this article and understand why we have not gotton any closure from Aiken. This ticks me off and makes me sad!

These guys are sick, if wanted it that bad and cant get anywhere else, they could have just payed a hooker. Of course that's illegal too, but at least it looks desperate as far as one normal guys would do to have sex. Not with a convict in the back of a squad car. So stupid
